I'd still check it out first. There are different types of silicone that cure in different ways and have different admixtures. Since it's going somewhere sensitive I'd want to make sure that it's 100% bodysafe.

The big problem with silicone is the molds. It's very hard to "touch up" afterwards compared with metals or hard plastics, so you need to have a just about perfect surface before casting.

I once took a bit of black model magic clay and rolled it into a roughly phallic shape. It was tiny - smaller than a cigarette - and did nothing for me except leave a bunch of black powdery stuff inside me. Thankfully it washed out okay.

It would be a lot of fun to design and make my own silicone dildo, but I'm supremely lazy so I don't think I'll ever do it.
