Well, first off, there are lots of threads on the scent of these candles already. But ignoring that, I think it's really up to your preference in smell.

In my experience, all the scents are fairly high quality, so it just depends on what you like. I personally favor the Dark Vanilla and Bourbon scents. My good friend prefers the Water Cucumber, while it is totally not for me. Some people love the Truffle Gardenia, but it's comparatively very floral. I would really like to try the Vetiver Honey in the ember series.

My recommendation would be to go with what is most similar to your usual favorite scent. Sweet edibles? Masculine spices? Flowers? Citrus? Or you could always try the sampler. More expensive but awesome

Thank you for replying! I have read quite a few posts on the scents, but I'm still indecisive.

The special edition scents look tempting, but I would also like to make sure I purchase something both my partner and I would like. Also I kind of wanted to get a general sense of what is most widely liked. Which I feel I could have gotten with a poll, but unfortunately I am not sure how to do that. I did see a post explaining that to post a poll it the option is next to the post discussion option, but I have seen no such poll option.

I was also considering just purchasing the sampler, then giving away as gifts the ones my partner and I did not have an interest in. This although means I will not be able to sample/try the limited edition scents... which I was considering.

The sampler is great product to get to know. I was suprised I thought the vanilla would be my favorite and the bourbon my least. It was actually the oppisite. This way youc an try out the product and if you like the quality you can get some of the limited edition on your own : )
I shared my sample pack with all my friends!

I've tried a whole bunch (each of the limited edition, as well as the sampler, and one Ember), and I wrote up a review of just the scents over here. My favorites are bourbon, vanilla, lychee+lapsang, and abisinthe+sugarwater (how helpful is having four favorites, right? ) but I did my best to describe them all for you.

Is the lychee really sweet smelling? I LOVE the smell of lychee, but find sometimes it is made just too sickly sugary smelling.

I would actually advise against this. Out of my sampler, I liked maybe 2 of the scents -- and I already owned one of those!

Has any one smelled the bourbon scented candle? I'm curious but it could be gross

I just got it, and think it smells great! I'm quite picky about scented candles, I usually find them far too artificial, but this is clearly high quality and a great scent in my opinion. If you like warm, cozy, wintry scents, I'd recommend it.

The vanilla isn't really any kind of vanilla scent, to me. It's more of a straight up musk scent.

The Special Edition Truffle & Gardenia is probably my favorite one (followed by the Lychee & Lapsang, then probably Pink Lotus and Bourbon). I have almost all of them, and they all smell pretty good, though the Cucumber Water really wasn't my thing (a light, watery cucumber scent with a little bit of floral, very slight melon scent...but I hate Cucumber Melon scent). The Truffle & Gardenia smells overwhelmingly floral in the container. While burning, that tones down a bit, and on my skin, the floral is rather light and the truffle comes out more. LOVE it.

As for the Dark Vanilla, I found that it smelled quite a bit like vanilla (the box states that it's Vanilla Orchid and musk with a liquor finish, so it is NOT going to be a baked goods, your typical vanilla scent). I thought it was alright, but on my skin, the vanilla scent came out more and I didn't like it and gave it to my mother.

The only ones I haven't tried are the Absinthe & Sugar Water, Grapefuit (both because I don't like citrus scents...people say the A & SW one has lemon in it), and the Fig Leaf and Black Currant. I've never seen those two in stock, though I don't think I would like them, especially the Black Currant one because I don't like berries or berry scents.

In all honesty, they all smell awesome, you just have to go by which scent you think you would like the most...Jimmyjane's website lists all the notes in each candle scent, that should help you decide which one you might like.

I really want to try the Absinthe and Sugar Water. It sounds almost yummy! I'm curious about what others think who have tried it.
