The one I tried was basically liquidy chocolate it was soo yummy!

It really depends on the brand you buy, some are too sweet (or just plain don't taste as good as they look) and leave the skin sticky.
But when you find the product that works for you and your partner they're a lot of fun to play with.
If you're worried about chemicals or possibly nauseating taste you could just use regular store bought hot fudge or something similar.
Nutella has a great taste and when it's warmed up a little it gets soft enough to 'paint' with. ^_^
You could probably even add food color to such edibles to make it even more fun and turn your partner into a living masterpiece until you lick it all off. x'D

I ordered the Shunga Body Paint in Chocolate Almond... Somehow got Vanilla & Chocolate flavor instead (that's not even one of the listed flavors!). I didn't think I was gonna like it, until I tasted it. It's YUMMY!

I'm interested in trying some of the nicer ones from Shunga or Kama Sutra, but all other experiences have been very sticky and not very tasty.

It can be really good, but you have to find the right brand and check out the ingredients first. A lot of chocolate body paints tend to end up tasting like Dollar Store chocolate syrup, but that's mostly the cheap ones.

I'd make or buy some icing and add food coloring. You can make a super easy glaze with powdered sugar and slowly add water a few drops at a time until it reaches the desired consistency. Add food coloring and a paint brush and it'll prolly taste way better.

Guess it depends on the brand. It can be fun, and taste is highly subjective. It is most likely going to taste like artificial sugar. If you're okay with that, then it'll be okay.

No. No it isn't. Draw a line with ice cream fudge or something, but honestly, the whole food thing is iffy. If you're going to incorporate edible items, just don't do a lot. Anymore than a dab here or there is just eating. Like whip cream; you'd be amazed how fast that goes from hot to.. trying to eat a lot of whip cream.
