Having not played with this toy myself, I'm not entirely sure how to help. But, when it comes to sex toys and stuck parts, I always suggest some lube! If you can get it on the part in question and keep it off your hands enough to still have a grip, of course.
Otherwise, the classic method- force- is probably the way to go. =)

I think lube is useful for pretty much everything, even non-sex toy related tasks, like getting larger plugs into ears more easily.
I once tried to remove a bullet from a spiney-looking anal probe with lube in the store... half hour later, we decided it wasn't meant to be removable. Reply

a) I read "larger plugs into ears" and visualize first trying to put anal plugs in ears (wtf?) and then ear plugs, like for noise. THEN I realized you mean jewelry.
b) "spiney-looking anal probe." What the hell kind of anal probe is spiney? My sphincter closes in protest!
