How long do you keep your vibrators?

Contributor: carenautilus carenautilus
I was reorganizing my toys the other day and pondering the life span of various kinds of toys. My vibrators definitely have the shortest life span (moving parts and all that), but even so, I was surprised by how long I'd had some of them. What about you guys, how long do you generally hold on to your vibes?

we keep them till the break down or wear out. Some cheap toys have only lasted a few months but most of them have lasted a year or more. In fact the majority of our toys are still going strong after multiple years of usage. Jelly are the worst because they tend to melt no matter how we store them.

I will keep the ones I enjoy until I break them which I hope is a long, long, long time.

I keep them as long as the material is still in like new condition and they still run. The one I have had the longest....7 years.

I keep them as long as possible regardless of whether they work or not.The only time I throw one away is if the material wears out.

If I like the toy and it still functions properly, I keep it till the bitter end. I have phased out some jelly toys because of the material.

I keep them til they break or unless I dislike them enough to not want to use them anymore. I'm considering getting rid of some jelly toys I don't love since I have some nicer similar ones now.

Until either the motor or the material starts to wear down. Or I simply find myself not enjoying them anymore.

I have a couple toys that are almost 35 years old...and STILL humming along. No kidding. I have a lot of toys less then five years old. Once they break or get discolored or start "deteriorating"...out they go.

GOOD POINT. My glass and metal toys should be FOREVER.

Very true. Jelly (used to be my favorite for rabbits) always get sticky and melt in storage.

Until they break, fail, get damaged, or information comes to light that the material might not be safe.

Even failure doesn't mean they get discarded, at least one of ours has been cracked open and had some wires re-soldered and put back into service.

Forever? Until they don't work any more? Unless they are made of crappy materials that have a short life-span, I don't see a reason to ever get rid of toys after a set amount of time

Last night I threw away ALL my jelly toys. Will keep the high quality material vibrators until I wear them out!

It really depends on the vibe...I care for them well, and use condoms with them when necessary. However, if one suddenly stops working, it goes into the trash.

Im not sure what its name was, I think it was the harmonia G spot vibrator. I had it for less than a year and it stopped working but I kept it because it feels good as a dildo and because it was expensive.
