Both the silver balls and the glass ones are perfectly functional. The vibrating ones are not meant for your purpose, and the spiked ones don't look like the best choice, in my humble opinion. You might want to consider the Ami if your budget allows. It's a great set for exercise purposes.

I've heard that glass ones can get microfractures when they hit each other, so I'd avoid those for sure. I'm saving up to get Lelo's balls, all the reviews are great, plus you can switch them out for different weights! Want want want.

I like the one's that Fun Factory makes, (Smart Balls) They are good for beginners and are attached ones instead of two separate balls. They do the job well, and have a string making them easier to use than individual, unattached, super slippery glass or silver balls. So, if you're unfamiliar with this kind of product, they might be a good option.

I agree with others that these may not be the best for beginners. Before you've worked your kegels, it can be tough to expel one of those balls. There are multiple varieties that have balls in a silicone sheath, with a tail to let you pull them out, and I'd go with one of those. If you pick one that lets you choose between having one ball or two in at the same time, that's even better.

I haven't had any balls but I'm looking into Lelo's and Sin fives. Right now I use the gynaflex b/c it was recommended in a book I read, but you have to consciously work them. I like the concept of the balls doing the work for me, and plan on getting one of the two I mentioned above soon.

I'd actually recommend the SinFive Emigi most, but the silver balls after that. I'm always really anxious to give advise about using kegal exercisers though(when the goal is just to tighten the vagina, I'm totally down with the "longer and stronger orgasms" bit). So much of the rhetoric is deeply problematic, and intended to shame women (well, people with vaginas, but the kind of person doing the shaming does not generally acknowledge the existence of trans* people). So, y'know, get the SinFive Emigi because it'll make *you* feel awesome.
