I got a Doc Johnson Radiant Gems nubby thing.. It was made of Sil-a-gel, and caused a HORRENDOUS burning feeling. After that particular experience, I got really involved and read up on my materials and everything. I still own it, to this day. And I've actually used it a couple times (covered, of course.) And I'd probably buy it again, knowing everything I do now. (I only spent like $2.50 on it? Amazon ftw) It's that toy that made me realize I have an awkward love for nubby things.

I am pretty sure that the first toy I bought was a small plastic plug. I remember that I had just turned 18 and it was the best I could get without a credit card and 100 km away from any decent sex toy store. The next sex toy I bought was a G-spot vibe while I was on a highschool trip in Newmarket Ontario lol

Do you still own the sex toy? Nope!

Did the material cause any nasty side effects such as itching, rash, or burning? I've had one do this, it was horrible.

Do you consider the material at this present time to be "safe"? No!

Would you buy the toy over again after learning new things about sex toy materials?
No way!

I forgot to say - It was made of sil-a-gel and made by Doc Johnson. I felt like I was on fire for like an hour. Never again.

My first was a straight, simple, cheap hard plastic vibrator and I hated it. It didn't fit my body and I hated the way the vibrations felt. I was convinced I hated vibration until I recently bought a Lelo vibe on a whim and am now addicted.

Oooh, I didn't address your questions:
Do you still own the sex toy? Noooooooo
Did the material cause any nasty side effects such as itching, rash, or burning? Nope
Do you consider the material at this present time to be "safe"? Yes. It was plastic.
Would you buy the toy over again after learning new things about sex toy materials? I wouldn't buy it again, but not because of the material.

I took my time researching before purchasing my first toy and in the end I chose to go with the more expensive choice, silicone, rather than something inexpensive that wouldn't last as long or be as safe.

Haha, first cheap jelly toy. I had no idea they smelt so awful and were sticky feeling. Then our ferrets got to it and chewed it up so we no longer have it. Not a big loss. haha

Silicone. It was this one. It wasn't because I was especially enlightened about materials at the time or anything, it was just because I really liked the shape, and I got it for an excellent price.

I wanted silicone and I thought that's what I was getting. That's what it said in the description. But it was TPR Silicone.

My first toy was a lipstick vibe. I consider plastic to be safe enough for me, but I wouldn't buy this one again because it turned out to be defective! My first insertable toy was plastic too. I don't know it I would buy it again because I only like to use it externally and it's a so-so vibe.
