The Velvet black vibe is a traditional vibrator intended for vaginal and anal use. The length of the toy plus the opening in the handle makes for easy gripping, making it easy to use during intercourse for clitoral stimulation as well. This vibe would be good for almost anybody, although if you have to be discreet, this toy may not be for you because it is kind of loud. I would not recommend that this toy be used in the shower. Although the toy itself is stamped waterproof, the packaging and instructions manual does not state that it is.

The Velvet black vibe is silky, completely smooth and soft to the touch. It is made out of ABS plastic with a polyurethane coating, and it is phthalates free and has no odor or taste.

The Black velvet vibe is 8 1/2 inches long with 6 inches being insertable and 1 1/4 inches in diameter. The top end of the vibe has 2 bulges at the top of it and the other end has a handle which comes in handy for thrusting. The odd thing about this toy is that the battery compartment is located on the insertable end. Although I was feeling really good while trying this toy out, I couldn't help but think that the battery compartment could open while inside me; that didn't happen, not this time anyway. To avoid such a scenario a condom could be used so you can enjoy yourself completely and not have to worry about batteries coming out while the toy is inside. I haven't used many insertable toys, this is probably my second one in my life, but I really liked the size and girth of this vibe and it worked well for me; I found if we thrust too hard the toy would feel too hard and it would feel a little bit uncomfortable though. There is only 1 level of vibration with this toy, but it is pretty strong and I enjoyed it. If you are looking for something discreet, this toy may not be for you. I found it to be rather loud; it sounded like my husbands hair clippers. This toy uses 2 AA batteries.

The vibrations run all the way through this toy, I even used the handle end for clitoral stimulation. I found it was better to pinpoint with that end than the other end which is flat. Water or silicone based lube can be used with this toy, although I did not find it necessary to use any. Condoms should be worn if you intend to switch from vaginal to anal play. The packaging suggest that this toy not be stored with toys made of different materials in order to avoid chemical reactions.

The Black Velvet Vibe comes packaged in a thin cardboard box with a nude woman on the front, the packaging would not make suitable storage due to the fact that it is not discreet and the box is not sturdy enough to last long. Inside the toy is shrink wrapped and comes inside a plastic insert, it comes with instructions printed in several languages.

This vibe has some flaws but overall I liked it.

I enjoyed this toy. As stated I don't have much experience with insertable vibes, so my hubbie and I were looking forward to trying this out. The vibe works well for clitoral stimulation; I used both ends of the toy and they were both pleasant. Once my husband inserted it (vaginally) it felt kind of overwhelming at first with the girth of it and the vibes but I warmed up to it. I use vibes mainly for penetration during oral and this was the case here. I found that all of the sensations that I was having from the vibe kind of made me not feel the oral at times but we worked through that. We have only been able to use the toy once, and I feel like we have much more exploring to do with it. Who knows, with the intense internal vibes I was feeling today, I might just start using it for solo play as well, and explore some things on my own.
