Etherea silk cuffs by LELO - review by Sir

As part of LELO's new BDSM line, the Etherea Silk Cuffs are soft, made of high quality materials, and should be long lasting for lighter restraint. These are not cuffs meant to be used during heavy or rough play - they're meant for sensual, soft restraint for couples experienced with restraining their partner. Because they're so soft, most anyone should be comfortable wearing them or using them.

There are a few different ways that the cuffs can be tied: by tying the silk ties with each other and then making a bow, by making bows on each of the ties and then using a link to connect them, or by wrapping the ties around the cuffs making a faux-bondage look.

Made of both silk and suede, these cuffs are designed to last for a lifetime, as long as they are taken good care of and handled softly. The suede is extremely soft, beautifully stitched, and the intricately designed silk is just as comfortable and smooth. They can be worn on either side, either the silk or suede side in, though this depends greatly on the size of the wearer's wrists.

The silk ties that run through the cuffs are luxuriously soft and silky (well, of course, they're made of silk) and they glide across the skin like satin blankets. It's very possible to make beautiful ties on a partner's arms or legs with the very long silk ribbons.

On the side of each cuffs is a little black tag with "LELO" in white letters. The entire design of the cuffs is very classy and gorgeous, and for sensual restraint, they work extremely well.

Since the cuffs tie by the ribbon and nothing else, they should fit all sized individuals very easily. Though smaller people may have a hard time with wear as the cuffs overlap each other, the cuffs should be fine for the average or larger than average person.

These cuffs are extremely soft and flimsy—so flimsy, in fact, that when holding them, they wiggle around a bit. This isn't a problem during use, as they tend to stay stationary on the wearer's limbs, but it still makes it that these cuffs cannot be used during hard BDSM scenes. They're better used on a night alone with a partner, including candlelight and soft ticklers.

Personally, I was able to use these and not feel like they were too "soft" for me, as they're especially good when wanting to just lay back and enjoy restraining a partner instead of all of the added things during usual scenes.

I found that because the cuffs have a sort of curvaceous shape to them, they can be used as blindfolds (not very well, though, but if the partner closes their eyes while wearing it, the blindfold will further block out light).

Silk and suede are two materials that stain easily and are hard to clean. For cleaning, it's best to take them to the cleaners or use a suede cleaning solution on the suede side. It's very imperative to make sure that the cuffs are kept out of the light and in a place that's dry so that they do not become mucked up, washed-out, or stained. Since LELO packages their cuffs very nicely, keeping them in the original box will be beneficial to their life and condition.

LELO packages their Etherea Silk Cuffs in a very small, but fitting, box. The outer box is made of a thin cardboard, and it bears a picture of the lovely silk cuffs. The back says a few sentences about the product in five different languages, and there is a little part that says, "100% Pure Silk / High-Quality Suede," and underneath, "Dry clean only."

Inside of the thinner box is a thicker, more substantial cardboard box. This is what I keep for storage, as it's very discreet and unsuspecting. It's also very small, so it can fit into smaller spaces without taking up too much area.
