Use / Performance

This riding crop is best used for impact play. With a flick of the wrist or a swing of the arm this flogger can snap down with blows to the bust, butt and thighs. If you are new to impact play and are wanting to land more than just a teasing blow, I encourage you to look into some safety information about where on the body is safe to hit. Maybe it comes as a surprise, but you can actually hurt people when you are beating up on them!

This crop also has great psychological effect. It is long and slim and almost entirely black. It extends the reach of whoever wields it. Unlike the intimate and direct contact of spanking, using a flogger can provide some distance between partners. Some people enjoy the added formality while others like being able to watch the whole writhing body of their submissive from a few feet back.

The length of the toy also adds a good deal of responsiveness. The tiniest wrist motion will be magnified when using this crop. And a larger motion will be amplified proportionately. Sadists rejoice!

The sensation from this toy will change dramatically depending on how hard it is swung. Gentle swings give a feeling of lightly tenderizing the flesh while bringing some blood to the surface. Hit a little harder and the sensation is that of a dull thud. Go harder still and a sharper kind of pain starts to develop that is guaranteed to leave the ass feeling fresh.

The crop has a slight whistle as it flies through the air, especially at higher speeds.

Construction / Materials

Alright, first things first. This crop is not made of rubber. That is the sited material on the product page, but it is wrong. I am not sure what the inside shaft of this crop is made from, but it is encased in leather, metal and synthetic webbing. The shaft itself is stiff with a little flexibility to it. Both the handle and head of the toy are made of black leather. It is quite stiff and shiny. The leather on the head is quite smooth while that of the handle has a bit more of a leathery texture. The handle is capped at both ends with metal and the base of the toy has the Spartacus logo embedded into it. There is no wrist strap on the end of this toy. There are two rows of neat stitching keeping the leather of the handle in place at its seam.

The shaft of the toy is encased in a woven synthetic material. It may be very stiff nylon or plastic of some kind. The place where the shaft attaches to the head of the toy is reinforced by wire wrapping that extends about 3" down. The head of the crop is made from a doubled over piece of leather. It is neatly stitched onto the body. It is not stitched on the sides, though, so the leather forms a loop. Because of how this toy was packed for shipping, the head was bent over when I got it. Fortunately after a few days of lying down on a flat surface the head has mostly straightened out.

Maintenance / Care

As previously stated this crop does not have a wrist strap so it can't be hung on the wall. It could be stored in a long case, lying flat in a drawer or standing up in a vase or bucket-like container. If needed, it can be wiped down with a damp cloth to be cleaned. Make sure to dry the toy thoroughly after washing though. If left wet the leather can start to get smelly and the metal to rust.
