Funky, hard core, and surprisingly painful

This product is probably not a good introductory BDSM item for the casual user. These cuffs are very uncomfortable; unless pain in your wrists is a turn-on, it just distracts you from more important parts of your anatomy. They are also sized very small and not going to accomodate some women and most men. The construction is not bad for the price, so if you like them they will probably last you a while.

Use

This was my first experiment with light BDSM, and I was not sold on the idea with this product. I found the cuffs painful to use and cheaply made. The chains between the cuffs are too short for a lot of uses and the cuffs themselves are very small. You could not string it through a lot of headboards. I suppose the best use for them would be to restrain someone's arms right in front of them or behind their back.

Design / Craftsmanship / Material / Size / Fit

The design of these cuffs leaves a lot to be desired. The cuffs themselves are very small. I'm not a large woman and I can wear them only on the largest setting. I don't think most men could wear them. The "faux fur lined cuffs" are really only covered with a fake velvet like you would expect on a cheap track suit. It offers no padding, and I found them painful to wear. That may be a good thing for some people, but for me it was too uncomfortable and I quickly removed them. They do have a quick release catch on the side of the cuffs in case you lose the keys. The sturdiest parts of the design are the two chains that connect the cuffs, but they are short chains and won't let you snake the chain through too many pieces of furniture. Depending on the type and construction of your furniture, I'd be afraid of it getting scratched by the chains.

Performance

I think if you can get past the fit and comfort issues, these cuffs would probably hold up to repeated use. However, since I used them once and pitched them into the trash, I can't personally attest to their long-term wear.

Packaging

The box has a good close-up picture of the product. It just makes the "faux fur" look cushier than it is in reality. It also has a warning that I don't really understand: "Adverse use on any function of the body is prohibited." I'm not sure what that means.

Follow-up commentary
I hated these and couldn't figure out what to do with them. Can't donate them to Goodwill so they ended up in the trash.

Nice review! I'm sorry the cuffs didn't work out for you very well. I hope you can try some that are better quality and that are actually comfortable.

I was going to say just about the same thing as Kris! I think I'll stick to my comfy cuffs I prefer my pain to be in the 'proper' places.

I'm not a fan of metal cuffs either. I consider them Costume Jewelry. (Although I do sometimes wear a metal cuff key attached to a chain around my neck. You can always out the Kinky People by the smiles.)

There are a LOT of good cuffs out there. Eden sells a lot of really good ones. I'd suggest the Sports Cuffs and Tether Set by Sports Sheets for beginners and intermediate users. They are easy to use, Velcro and neoprene and really fun!
