This paddle looks pretty and well made and it is. This paddle also looks hard-core, but it doesn't have to be! That is exactly what I love about it. I get quality, and aesthetics without having to feel like I'm in a BDSM dungeon. Being my first paddle or spanking tool, I was a bit worried that this paddle would be much more than my booty could handle. I was pleasantly surprised. There would be nothing worse than killing the mood with "ouches" and explicative instead of "mmmHmmmms" and moans.

This paddle is priced higher for the quality and craftsmanship but isn't necessarily for those who like harder play. I am not very experienced with using items for spanking, but spanking has been one of my favorite foreplay options for awhile. This paddle will still fulfill the desires of the more experienced. I can't imagine it completely disappointing anyone! So whether it is your first time, or 100th, this paddle is worth the money to deliver a great spanking.

This paddle is made by ASLAN leather. They are THEE leaders in leather manufacturing in the sex industry. It is easy to see why. This is my second item made by them and both are extremely well made. The leather is smooth and flawless. The stitching is seamless, neat, and tight. There is a very VERY slight smell of leather if this gets moist, but other than that the material is odorless.

DESIGN:

The paddle is all matte black. There is a raised red glitter heart in the center of the paddle on one side. The same red material is used to make the connected hand strap at the end of the handle. The handle has a hard piece of material sewn in place between the pieces of leather. This provides for a hard grip to be had.

SIZE:

When measured from top to bottom, the paddle is 18" including the handle and handle strap. The paddle without the handle-strap is a foot long, making the handle-strap 8". The circle paddle is 7.5" at the widest point. Yes, this paddle is BIG! I wasn't expecting it to be this large, but I was later glad that it was and you'll read why in a bit. The heart is 3" at the widest point. The handle itself is 4.5" long and 2" wide. This is good for a lot of different sized hands. The paddle is only .25" thick.

MATERIAL:

The majority of the paddle is made of top quality leather that is handpicked by the owner of ASLAN. The heart and hand-strap are made of a red glittery vinyl that is sewn on. There are two pieces of leather sewn securely back to back to create the paddle. This makes a semi-flexible body of the paddle. I expect this paddle to last a lifetime with how well it is made.

Again, this was my first paddle. It was my first spanking toy at all too. I found the paddle extremely easy to use. My partner felt the same way as we took turns using it on each other. Different feelings could be achieved based on a few things:

The way you flicked your wrist: The bigger the flick the more sting you got. A swing will be more of a thwack.

How fast you swung or flicked: The faster the flick or swing, of course made a louder sound and harder feel.

How much of the paddle: If you hit with all of the paddle or the bulk of it, it would create a big sound but much less of a sting. This is why I like that the paddle is large. The hit is spread out.

Where on the paddle: If you hit using only the top end of the paddle, this creates the biggest sting. Because of the paddle body being flexible, it has a bit of an extra hit to it.

For the majority of the ways we used it, it produced a perfect hard hit with a small sting. I loved it and so did my partner. You can choose to use the wrist strap or not. It's not really needed. If you don't use it though, it can kind of get in the way. I found it easy and comfortable to slide my wrist in and out of it. My partner has big bear claw hands and he found it comfortable as well. The handle itself was a little painful if I had to grip it hard, but I didn't notice this during most of my play.

ASLAN makes a great leather product, so not much is needed to maintain it. They recommend using a leather cleaner/polish to keep the leather looking new and fresh. If you get lube or juices on this just use a damp cloth on it. Never submerge in water. If this happens on accident, do not hand dry. Make sure to lay on a flat surface. For storage the hand-strap can double as a way to hook it onto a wall, behind a door on the knob, or on a hanger in your closet. If you don't want to hang it, just make sure it is kept in a cool place that is free of moisture. Be careful where you store it because the leather can get scuffed just like any other item of the same material. Keep it away from the dog! :)

This paddle comes in no manufacture packaging. It just comes in a clear heavy plastic bag to prevent scuffing.

I wanted to see if the heart shape would leave a heart imprint on my partner's bum, but I was too chicken to hit hard enough to find out. He didn't even use the heart side because he said that the raised portion looked like it could hurt more. So if anyone figures that out...let me know!

My creative boyfriend came up with a good way to use the hand-strap. When flipping the paddle around and letting the hand strap dangle it can serve as a makeshift crop.
