Wham bam paddle by Tantus - review by Girly Juice

The Tantus Wham Bam is a paddle made of silicone. It is designed to be used for spanking.

Tantus' line of paddles is designed for "advanced enthusiasts" of spanking; in other words, if you are a beginner to pain play, this paddle is not for you. I would recommend starting with a leather or wood one before upgrading to silicone, whether you're new to being a spanker, a spankee, or both, because those materials are better suited for beginners.

The Wham Bam is fairly long and floppy, so it operates like a cross between a paddle and a whip. This is part of the reason I wouldn't recommend this toy to beginners: its floppiness and material make it difficult to gauge how much force is necessary and how much sensation that force translates into.

You might think that a floppy paddle might lead to a lackluster sensation, but the Wham Bam actually feels significantly more impactful than my wooden paddle.

The Wham Bam's handle is thicker and sturdier than the rest of the paddle. I find it very comfortable and easy to hold onto. The silicone has enough drag that the toy doesn't slip out of my hand.

The paddle has square corners that may appear worryingly sharp to some, but they actually have rounded-off edges, so they shouldn't cause problems.

The paddle is lightweight but has enough weight to it that it can still pack a punch.

The Wham Bam is about 15" in total length, with roughly three-quarters of that length being taken up by the spanking end of the paddle and the other quarter being the handle. It's just a few inches longer than a standard ruler.

Being made of silicone gives this toy an advantage over most traditional paddles, because silicone can be easily sterilized, whereas leather and wood paddles cannot. This makes Tantus paddles a great choice for someone who plays with several different people and is concerned about playing safely.

Silicone is also a lovely material in general; this particular formulation is smooth to the touch and feels very high quality. I have no doubts that this paddle will last me a very long time without deteriorating at all.

The Wham Bam is a more pain-inducing paddle than the other spanking implements I've used in the past (a wooden paddle and my boyfriend's hand), but I'm pleased with it because I've been thinking it was time for an upgrade, now that I can handle harder impacts.

I love the feeling of being spanked with the Wham Bam. It creates a nice stinging sensation, and can leave marks if used hard enough.

I also like the Wham Bam when I'm wielding it myself. It's easy to use, and I don't need to put a lot of force into my swings to get a strong impact out of it.

Its impacts are a bit louder than those of my wooden paddle, which might be a consideration for you if you live with family or roommates.

Silicone is easy to care for. You can wipe this paddle with toy wipes or wash it with soap and water for casual cleanings. For more intense and thorough disinfecting, you can boil it, run it through the dishwasher, or wipe it down with a 10% bleach solution.

The paddle comes with a plastic bag shaped and sized perfectly to fit the paddle. This bag can be used for storage to keep lint and dust off the toy (it does attract debris, as silicone tends to do, and the debris is extra visible because the toy is black). Alternatively, you can hang the paddle from a hook using the removable plastic strap attached to its handle.
