Un Collier pour Ma Petite Fille

Leatherbeaten's products are made of high-quality leather that's bound to last for a long time. The Diabolo Collar is one of their unique collar designs, with an intimidating look that can still be used for lighter play. With its double-ring design, it's definitely an interesting, and worthwhile, piece to own.

Use

Collars can, of course, be used and worn for a number of difference reasons: to show submission, to be brought/dragged around in submission, or to be fashionable. Since there are two rings, you have the option of using two leashes or reins with this, which is great for people who enjoy dragging their partner around with both of their hands, those involved in pony-play, or people in polygamous relationships.

When used in pony-play, the collar can be twisted around with the snaps in the front and two leashes or reins can be attached to the rings, thereby allowing you to steer your pony or urge them on. For those using multiple leashes or polygamous relationships, you can have one leash in each hand or have each leash be held by two different partners. Whatever you prefer to use this collar for, it remains an intimidating piece for special submissives.

The Diabolo Collar can be used by people into heavier BDSM. While it isn't a training collar, it is nice for going to events, conventions, or taking your submissive around bars or clubs. It isn't exactly classy, but it is certainly different from normal leather collars that you might find in stores or websites. Because of this, it can also be used by people who are more light with their BDSM (or who don't prefer it at all).

Design / Craftsmanship / Material / Size / Fit

With a very industrial look, this collar is great to wear to clubs, events, or the bedroom (perhaps dungeon). The Diabolo Collar is a double-ringed collar made of leather that's very hardcore and serious. Each of the rings has two spikes that are very smooth and have rounded ends.

Wearing it for long periods of time is not uncomfortable at all. Though its inside isn't finished like most of my collars (they were made by my uncle though, so those don't count!), the roughness of the leather doesn't itch or scratch when worn. It can get very hot though, as leather is a thick material, but it will not be uncomfortable unless you're sweating a lot. The edges of the collar are finished and very smooth to the touch, except on one end where there are some leather threads popping out. When I rubbed my fingers over it, all that I felt was the smoothness of the cut leather—no imperfect edges or oddities.

Finished with studs (or nickel plated brass rivets, to be exact), the collar will not rip apart or become damaged in heavy play. This is not a lockable collar—it snaps closed with four convex snaps on the inside, and three concave snaps for closing. All of its pieces are well placed without any looseness to the material. I tried pulling on this thing and spreading it — it's something that I do with most of my restraints or collars, to see what they hold up to — and it didn't budge. I happen to be very strong, so for it to withstand that is a good thing. The Diabolo Collar is also made of a high-quality leather, as Leatherbeaten uses such materials for all of their leather products. It's a thicker leather that's very sturdy and smells wonderful. I could keep this near my nose for days on end.

This collar does appear to be more masculine and intimidating, therefore it seems to be geared towards male submissives. Of course though, it can be worn by anyone, as long as it fits! The smallest neck size that this collar will fit is 11", and it extends to a size 14½". These are the measurements for the 16½" size—which is the length of the collar when it's laid flat

Performance

Well, what is there to really say? I absolutely love this collar. Leatherbeaten is a great company for leather products (and I can't say it enough). Their floggers? Heavenly. This collar will hold up to practically anything. Though it's not something that I'd typically buy for my little girl, since I prefer prettier, cuter leashes on her, it's still very functional and great for wearing out.

I think that the best part of this collar is its double-ring feature. There are so many different uses for this that can be great for certain types of relationships. Though I'm not in any of those types (polyamorous, pony-play), I will definitely utilize its two rings for other things (like with cuffs, or two leashes).

Care and Maintenance

Leather is something that needs to be taken good care of but, when high-quality, is very easy to store. It should not be put in very damp places for long, and if worn often, should be let out to get some air. You can of course put it in your closet (my closet has satin drapes that can be drawn back), just be careful with its placement so that it can have breathing time. Generally, when I store my collars, I fold them over, turning the leather around the rings, and keep them flat.

Because of its leather material, if this collar is to ever get dirty or get some random substances on it, you can wipe it down with a damp cloth and set it out to dry. Do not use a blow dryer or something else to dry it. Just hang it up, not in an enclosed space, and it will be fine. The only things that there might be a problem with cleaning are the two rings, but they can also be wiped down in the same manner.

Leather is a very sturdy material that lasts a long time. Leatherbeaten's Diabolo Collar is certainly made with lifespan in mind, and can be worn many times for many years.

Packaging

The Diabolo Collar doesn't really have any special packaging that it comes in. It simply is wrapped in a little plastic baggie to keep it safe, sticker-ed shut, and has a paper tag attached to it. The tag has a beautiful piece of artwork on it, displaying an extraterrestrial woman with green flowing hair wearing Leatherbeaten's Dauphine collar. At the bottom, it says, "Out of this world Collars." Definitely cute and true.

Personal comments

A diabolo is actually a toy originated in China, also known as the "Chinese yo-yo." I'm guessing that this collar is named based on its double-ringed design. Though I'm not sure if that's correct, it's a little bit of interesting trivia to keep in the back of your mind.

Though I am dominant, I can see myself wearing this collar because it's just so attractive. If I ever feel like getting out my "special clothes" and dressing up (5¾" platform boots, fishnet shirts, and black leather pants, anyone?), I'm sure that this collar will be an accessory to my outfit.

Here are a few photos of it on my blog: Sir @ blogspot
Follow-up commentary
On Halloween, I wore this collar with a few of my favorite clothing items (my little sister made me dress up since I was taking her out). It was very comfortable to wear, and even though it was an extremely hot night, it didn't chafe on my skin at all. It's a lovely collar, and I'm sure that it will last for a very long time and remain in the family like my other cherished collars.

Thank you, Sexy Skye. I am glad that you enjoyed. I do sometimes add French here and there in some of my writings, I just prefer to not as it's not actually my native language.
