In look and feel, this toy comes surprisingly close to the real thing. It has lots of “give” to it, but is still pleasantly firm. The Futurotic material is soft, and has a life-like texture, and the veined detail is excellent. The Ballsy has a diameter of 1.5”, making it an ideal toy for those who prefer girth to length. That said, though the toy is 6” long, only 4.5” is insertable, so size queens (and kings) may want to look elsewhere.

The Futurotic material does have a not-so-pleasant, metallic scent at first, which is only noticeable if the toy is held near the face. The scent has begun to fade after several days of use, and it hasn’t interfered with my enjoyment of the toy at all. The Ballsy takes 2 AAA batteries, and insertion was quick and easy. This is a dial-base toy, but the dial isn’t connected to the battery chamber, so there’s no worry of batteries falling out during play.

The vibrator has three speeds: a warm-up tickle, a pleasant hum, and a full-throttle buzz. Internally, this toy was terrific. I used it vaginally both on my own, and with the help of my partner, and both times enjoyed a great orgasm (I needed additional external stimulation, but I generally do).

My partner has used quite a few toys on me, but said he found this one particularly arousing because of its exceptionally realistic look and feel. We both tried the toy out anally, since the “ballsy” bit gives it a sufficiently flared base, and this was actually my favorite use for the toy. The size is pleasing but not overwhelming, and the vibrations were enjoyable. We did miss out a bit on the material and texture, since it’s essential to use condoms with this toy, especially when sharing.

I’d call this an ideal toy for beginners: the size isn’t intimidating, the vibrations aren’t overwhelming, and it’s very pleasant to touch and look at. Experienced users may enjoy it as well (we did), but be aware that this isn’t a toy with a whole lot of horsepower. When I used the Ballsy clitorally, it took me quite a bit longer than usual to orgasm. This is a great toy for those who don’t like too much internal vibration, but it may not be enough for those who prefer a little more stimulation, and I didn’t find it to be powerful enough for external use.

Futurotic material is extremely porous and impossible to sterilize, so it’s important to protect this toy with a condom. The Ballsy should be washed with warm water and toy cleaner before and after use, and dusted with a bit of talc-free powder (the toy arrives with a sample) or cornstarch after use to help maintain its texture. Avoid talcum powder, which is NOT recommended; as its use has been linked to cervical cancer. The Ballsy needs to be stored in a cool dark place, preferably in a plastic bag, as the porous material easily absorbs dyes. This toy is compatible with water-based lubricants only (I use Sliquid H20, which is hypoallergenic, glycerin, and fragrance, free).

This toy and I had a fairly lukewarm relationship to start with, and it only went downhill with time. The Futurotic material started to become gritty and then gummy within a few months of use, despite my taking care of it and using condoms each time. The need to use condoms continued to detract from any enjoyment I might have gotten out of the life-like material.

Material concerns aside, comparatively speaking, this toy really doesn't do anything for me in the vibrations department. It was fun to play with initially, since I'd never used a life-like toy before, but the novelty wore off pretty quickly. I gave the Ballsy plenty of chances, but one day a few months ago I pulled the batteries to use them in a different toy, and I haven't bothered to replace them.
