Running on three triple A batteries you'd think it would be a battery guzzler but I was pleasantly surprised to find that the batteries lasted much longer then I originally thought they would. As long as you take the batteries out after playing and depending on how often you use them, they can last between one to two weeks or longer. If you plan on using it a lot I would recommend investing in rechargeable batteries, it'll save you money in the long run for all your toys.

I find that a regular antibiotic soap and water is the best way to keep it clean between uses. Just make sure to dry it off well, take the batteries out and store in a cool place, so as not to melt the jelly. Because it's made of jelly, I wouldn't recommend sharing the toy with anyone because it's not the easiest thing to sterilize. If you plan on sharing I would say to definitely cover the toy with a condom.
