Cute and Sparkly but Not Incredibly Functional
This item would make a good bachelorrette party gift. It's cute and sparkly as well as functional and inexpensive. However, if you are going for quality and strong vibrations, this is not the toy for you.Published: January 8, 2011

I have had this for a while; it was one of my first toys. It is small (5.5 in with 4.5 in insert-able), portable, and made of hard plastic. The vibrating mechanism is located in the middle of the tube. The mechanism itself is a small metal stick with a rounded disc adhered to its side. The stick spins the disc around, and this provides the vibrations. This mechanism is most likely less expensive to produce than those used in other pricier toys. Unfortunately, this is evident in the quality of the vibrations. They are not strong at all. To me, it just felt like something was spinning inside me; the mechanism did not provide the stronger vibrations I was hoping for. One upside to the weak vibrations was that the toy was very quiet. I certainly didn't worry about anyone hearing it and wondering where the helicopter was.
That said, if weak vibrations are all you need, then this toy could be a cheap, cute option for you. Just because it didn't work for me doesn't mean it won't work for anyone.
The hard plastic material of the toy makes it easy to clean; I just used soap and water, but toy cleaner would also work. In the past, I have used Astroglide with this toy. I find the hard plastic has a much less appealing texture than a softer silicone, but at least it is safe and easy to clean.
I mostly used this toy solo or while my partner is watching. I tried using it for clitoral stimulation a few times as well as g-spot stimulation. I wouldn't recommend it for clitoral stimulation as the vibrations do not travel well. In its early days, I think we used in it foreplay a couple of times, but I would not recommend it for that; there are insert-able toys out there that are much better for such situations. Those which are made out of materials softer than hard plastic work better.
As the toy has aged (I've had it for about three years now), the spinning mechanism has gotten slower and slower. This is even true with fresh batteries. However, the toy is quite cheap, so I suppose a long life is not to be expected.

This toy wasn't new to me when I wrote the review. Its performance deteriorated with use, and what were once weak vibrations are now extremely weak. This item is better suited to be a party or gag gift, than to use in intimate situations. For the price, however, I suppose that is to be expected.

There are several reviews on this vibe, it looks like it varies for each person. With this price, it would be almost worth checking into. I don't like how it has 3 bee's though, doesn't leave it very discreet.
