This spiked, ridged, waterproof traditional vibrator gives the impression you are in for some hard-core stimulation and it doesn't disappoint. It appears to be an intimidating replica of Darth Vader's dick, perhaps hard and metallic, but the outer sleeve is soft and pliable, wrapped around a firm, plastic core. If intense stimulation (or a Darth Vader fetish) is your thing you will be both satisfied by the texture of the outer sleeve and disappointed by the strength of vibrations.

Use

The Fantasy Fire is a bit intimidating upon first glance. Shiny, black spikes and ridges decorate this otherwise traditional vibrator. And really, doesn't it look just like what you'd imagine Darth Vader's penis would look like? You know, if you imagined such things? I'm not saying you have a Star Wars fetish, but if you did... this may be THE vibrator for you.

Its spiky, ridged and bulging design provides for seriously intense stimulation and works for both internal and external stimulation. The spikes are softer than they appear, with plenty of give which allows them to move quite a bit when thrusting vaginally. Conversely, this toy produces fairly low intensity vibrations which are really only suitable for the very sensitive user. The toy is waterproof so it may be used in or out of water.

Material / Texture

The rigid plastic core housing the vibrating motor is covered with a thick, black, spiked and ridged TPE sleeve. The sleeve is unexpectedly soft and pliable with the last inch being extra giving due to the hard plastic vibrator not being as long as the sleeve. The combination of the firm internal shaft and the yielding sleeve with stimulating nubs do make g-spot stimulation possible in spite of this toy not being specifically designed, shape wise, to do so. But, again, with the ridges and spikes and all, it is an intense experience. It had a slight odor when removed from the packaging, but it did not last and was not nearly as bad as some toys I've owned.

The Fantasy Fire is phthalates free, however TPE is a material known to irritate some people, so proceed with caution if you've had such a reaction or have never used a toy made out of TPE.

Given the design of this toy, without any flared base of any kind, anal use is not recommended.

Design / Shape / Size

The Fantasy Fire is 1 3/4 inches in diameter, 8 1/4 inches long and has an insertable length of 6 3/4 inches(what, you expected Darth would have a tiny cock? I don't think so!). I found the girth of this vibrator just enough to require lube for comfortable use. And even with lube, I found the studded design to be overstimulating with internal thrusting. The stimulation was not painful, as one might expect when first seeing this toy, but not a sensation that gave me pleasure. This is not to say the toy would not be just the thing for someone else, but I have discovered I have a strong preference for vaginal insertion is a smooth surfaced toy. Normally, I am comfortable with a thickness of 1.5 inches diameter and I have given birth, so depending on your own anatomy, you may find this to be a tight fit.

On the other hand, the studding and ridges felt wonderful when using this dildo externally. With Darth's dick all slicked with lube, rubbing it across my clit and labia was marvelous.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The Fantasy Fire is simple to control through a single dial at the end of the shaft. Vibrations range from very light hum to moderate strength buzz that while loud, doesn't transfer strongly through the outer sleeve. The last inch to inch and a half of the sleeve seems to extend beyond the plastic core and the vibrations really die down towards the end. For this reason, the Fantasy Fire vibration doesn't work well for clit stimulation, but, as I mentioned before, the studs and ridges do provide good stimulation when rubbed against the "clit and labia.

Care and Maintenance

Because this toy is TPE and plastic, it cannot be disinfected if you plan to share it. Condoms to cover it would be recommended and extra care should be taken when cleaning with soap and water or toy cleaner. The studs and ridges have a tendency to want to "hold on" to body fluids when cleaning.

A word about batteries: This toy takes 2 AA batteries, but I had trouble using rechargeable batteries with it. It worked, but the vibration was VERY weak. I tried these batteries in another toy, to see if it was problem with the batteries, and they worked just fine. My conclusion here would be for best results, plan to use traditional batteries instead of rechargeables.

Packaging

The packaging is minimal, plastic, with a photo on the back of the vibrator itself. It's clear so you can see the vibrator inside as well. There are no photos of naked girls using the product. It states on the package that it's made of "Soft-Real Skin TPE" that "feels better than real penis".

No, it certainly does not.

Personal comments

I am pretty ambivalent about this product. I enjoyed the external stimulation but absolutely did not like how it felt during thrusting. The vibrations were such that during play, I stopped turning the vibrator on because the strength of the vibrations were not worth the loudness of the buzz I had to tolerate. Seriously, the dog heard it from 2 rooms away and came in to find out what the hell was going on. That said, as a dildo, for folks who love intense internal stimulation, this is quite effective.

So, for anyone in search of some extra stimulation from their dildo or all those Star Wars geeks out there who have been seeking the perfect tool to help them live out their most depraved Darth Vader fantasy, your search is over.

Follow-up commentary I still don’t like it 5 months after original review

I gave this toy another try, using it primarily as a clit stimulation toy. It did work quite well, stimulating my labia and clit with the vibrations and the rubber spikes, but it didn't ever make it into my favorites drawer and I have not used it a third time.
