With all of the strangely shaped and colored toys around, there’s something to be said for old school. Every girl should have a traditional vibrator in her toy box. The Hawaiian Vibrator by Pipedreams is a lovely traditional vibrator that will get the job done.
The Hawaiian Vibrator is 7” long, with 6” insertable. It’s pretty slender, being only 1” in diameter. It has a tapered tip, which allows for easy insertion. The vibrator comes in three pattern colors and styles – I chose purple/grape, which is a pattern of pink, yellow, and purple flowers all over a dark purple background. It’s very pretty and spring-like.
The bottom cap of the vibrator unscrews, and holds 2 AA batteries. The vibrator is variable speed, and the speed is adjusted by twisting the bottom of the cap. The base turns easily, and stays on the setting you select. Vibrations go from mild to somewhat intense. The sound is out of proportion, however. This baby is loud! It’s not as bad when fully inserted, but very loud when used externally on the clitoris.
The Hawaiian Vibrator is made of plastic, and is phthalates-free and non-porous. It is hard and inflexible, and the surface is smooth. I didn’t notice any seam on mine. Plastic can be cleaned with water and antibacterial soap, or by wiping it down with alcohol.
The Hawaiian vibrator works well for clitoral stimulation, and the tapered tip targets the clitoris well. It feels great vaginally, and delivers vibrations up and down its length. This vibrator gets very slippery when it and your hands are covered with lubricant and can be hard to hold on to since it doesn’t have a base. While this doesn't get nearly as much use as my other waterproof toys, I do still like to use this in the bath. Sometimes I like something thinner and slicker than other dildos and vibrators that I usually take in the water. It also works well when using another thin dildo to create a real feeling of fullness.
The finish on this vibe hasn't shown any signs of fading, and it still looks as pretty as it did when I first got it. The battery life is reasonable - I do take care to remove the batteries when this is not in use.
There's really not much wrong with this basic vibrator.
