Slim 5 functions - traditional vibrator discontinued by Nasstoys - review by Gunsmoke

The Slim 5 vibe is sold under the category of 'Traditional Vibes' - and by it's modest size of just 4.5" x 3/4", you'd have to say - small traditional vibe.

But looks can be deceiving - we've never owned a 'pocket rocket' - but this sure reminds me of what I hear. The pocket rockets I've seen are so small that they take just 1 AA battery - but are purported to deliver big when it comes to clitoral stimulation.

To me the Slim 5 goes not just one - but two better than a pocket rocket. Not only does the Slim 5 deliver strong clitoral performance, but it can be used for penetration either vaginally or anally. But I should caution, it's not designed for anal penetration and does not have the requisite flared base for safety.

As for vaginal penetration - it will probably be too small for most - except for very young beginners or just those who prefer very small vibes.

The real reason I asked for this assignment was because I wanted to see how well it work as a vibe for my 'reamed' silicone dildos. You see I have taken a 5/8" drill bit and reamed a cavity in our O2 Revolution and Tantus Maverick dildos. Frustrated by 'N' or watch batter vibes that come with most silicone vibrating dildos - I decided I could do better via a DIY approach.

The results have been quite good. Inserting a long thin vibe like the Slim 5 provides stronger vibrations over a greater length - gives new life to a couple of old dildos! We love our Vixskin toys so much that I haven't taken the drill to them yet - but I might!

The Slim 5 is a simple plastic enclosure surrounding the motor and 2 AAA batteries. There is no odor or texture. The smooth slick finish combined with a little lube - natural or artificial allows the vibe to glide easily along sensitive vulva and clitoral skin.

By the looks and size you'd assume that it was designed for beginners - but we're far from beginners and found it a delight for many uses.

As stated above the Slim 5 has just 4.5" of length for penetration and 3/4" width - for easy penetration. It's simple and well made - and definitely easy to transport, even in a purse or carry on bag. Although small it's powerful and because its made of rigid plastic - it can be rather loud. Not so loud as to be a distraction - but if I were in a hotel I'd leave the TV to mask the sound. Obviously when inserted the sound is substantially lower.

The vibes are actually a bit more 'rumbly' than some of the small bullets out there that tend to be very 'buzzy'. How can I say this - the vibes are buzzy - just in a deeper way than usual.

Although the description says dial-base, it's actually a push-button that activates the vibes. Each push goes to the next level or function. We're not fans of pulsing or pulsating - but they are there for those who like that sort of thing.

The battery compartment is threaded and it's easy to take off to put in the batteries. When you screw it on you notice the clear O-ring that seals the battery compartment - making it waterproof. Because it's well made, I would have no problem using it in the tub or shower.

I'm seeing the Slim 5 different than other reviewers who gave it low marks. Taking into account it's size and intended uses - I rank it a 4 of 5 for strength - it gets about as much power as you can get from 2 AAA batteries.

For sound level I go with 3 of 5 - definitely noticeable, but not too distracting (at least for us)

Because it's waterproof and smooth non-porous plastic, clean up is quite easy with warm soap and water. We will add an alcohol wipe at times - especially if we've used it for any back door play.

We use both oil based and silicone lubes - but you'd obviously be on safe ground to use your favorite water-based product - which should be compatible with any surface.

Storage - we just throw it in the drawer with our other toys - nothing special.

Simple recyclable clear plastic display box - just the basics.

I unexpectedly fell in love with this simple toy. Whether I'm using it as clit vibe to get things going - packing it into a larger dildo to add some internal vibes - or slipping it up her butt for a little buzzy DP - it's all good.

I highly recommend the Slim 5 for all you DIY-ers out there - you know who you are!

Because the Slim 5 is so small - it isn't going to be expected to do the job itself - but in combinations it can be quite nice. One particularly effective combination was with the Alumina Flow and Mystic Wand. When I'm doing oral for my wife, I'll often use the Alumina Flow to add some internal stimulation - but the Alumina is just a little small for achieving orgasm. However, when I slid the Slim 5 in anally - every thing changed.
