The Lx-4 is a rechargeable, multi-speed silicone cock ring from Lux (BMS Enterprises). As the name would suggest, the Lx-4 really does give out the vibe (pun intended!) of a distinguished and indulgent toy. BMS also has a hand in the Leaf products line.

The Lx-4's best use is its most obvious one, which is as a cock ring. Cock rings are meant to be used during penetrative sex to add additional clitoral or perineum stimulation. Its stretchiness makes it quite comfortable to wear around the shaft only, or around both the shaft and balls. Lx-4 could be added to most dildos or vibrators, provided they will fit onto the shaft of the toy (a kind of create-your-own rabbit). You could also hold onto the ring as a kind of handle and use it as an external vibrator or teaser -- for your clit, your anus (externally, only!) or nipples.


The fact that Lx-4 is made of silicone, is reuseable, water-proof and has decent power really places it a cut above the rest. Additionally, it charges fast, which is great for those who are impatient.

The Lx-4 is 100% silicone, which is body-safe and non-porous. It had no smell to it or taste. This silicone has slight drag to it, but is otherwise velvety and plush. I love that it's absolutely enclosed, without any seams. The top part of the ring (it looks just the 'diamond' on a cartoon ring) is somewhat squishy at the corners but the middle is completely firm. The ring itself is quite squishy and stretchable, not firm at all. If you hold the diamond in between your fingers and gave the whole thing a shake, the ring would jiggle freely, if that gives you a better idea of how soft it is.

Unstretched, the Lux Lx-4 is: 1.25" wide.
Stretched to max, the ring is: 3.25" wide, and of course pulling the ring in different directions to get yourself 'settled' is totally helpful.



My partner and I found this size to be entirely accommodating. We actually thought it was on the large side and certainly, if you're average or even above-average sized, the Lx-4 will suit you. No need to size up to the Lx-4 Plus.

There is no additional texture to the Lx-4, which I found I maybe would have liked since the vibrations just didn't quite cut it. On one side of the diamond is the logo 'LUX', but it can't be felt.

The Lx-4 is surprisingly large in the hand and I loved the size. In use, it definitely covered the area between my vaginal entrance and up to some of my clitoral shaft. it even stimulated my labia, since it's fairly broad in shape. Unlike other cock rings whose shape is like a trapezoid on top of the ring portion, the Lx-4's diamond is much better for stimulating more of the external female anatomy -- and that's the key to orgasm, if the vibrations are sufficient for you.



My partner noted that it was extremely squishy and stretchy, which he liked. He found putting it on himself to be fairly easy (though two pairs of hands are better than one). We tried it both ways -- on his shaft, he didn't feel pinched, though excessive use of lube is not recommended. Around the shaft and balls, he said he finally did get the feeling of a firm grip. Once in place, the ring did not pinch any hairs, which he wanted to make known as the most important part of comfort for someone wearing the ring! When I tried it on toys, I found the ring to be super easy-on and easy-off.




One design flaw that I must mention is the finicky charging port. When I received Lx-4, it was totally uncharged and I immediately plugged it in. This was my first experience with a waterproof jack of this kind, and it was less than stellar. Plugging it in felt weird, squishy. I couldn't quite tell when it was all the way in and firm. A red light comes on when it's charging, which is helpful. I walked away for a few minutes and when I passed it, the light had shut off. I re-adjusted it, but a few minutes later, it did the same thing. No one had disturbed it, yet it had trouble be alone with itself. This is a pretty big con for me. Luckily, the recharge time is only 2 hours.

I love that the vibrating component is totally enclosed in this silicone body. There are so slide-outs to trigger vibration or bullets you must insert into a shell, just a top button that's hidden under the silicone outer. That's a big plus Lx-4 has over other toys.

To activate the vibrations, simply click the extremely well-hidden button on the top of the ring. It has no texture on it, but it is centrally located so your fingers will find it.



The Lx-4 works by clicking and holding the button to get to higher levels of vibration. When you click just once, it will turn on. If it's already one, one click will shut it off. I don't really think this is a very intuitive system, especially since it's easy to not hold the button long enough when you want a higher vibration and then shut it off. Also, if you click and hold for an extended time, it's easy to 'overshoot' the highest level of vibration, at which point the Lx-4 will just shut off. The manual and manufacturer's notes bill this kind of function as an improvement, but I think it's pretty arguable.

The Lx-4 has only steady vibrations, which are the kind that I like best. There are 4 levels of steady vibration, each stronger than the previous. There are no patterns, which may be a con for some. At least it's incredibly quiet! If you closed your eyes and stood at the opposite end of a room, you could easily overlook the noise and not know it was on.

I got the Lx-3 and the Lx-4 at the same time, so I'll be comparing them a little bit. I imagine the use the same motor and their vibrating parts are the same size, even though the two toys are for very different functions.




The Lx-3 has its vibrating component located in the little arm. This is about the same size as the diamond of the Lx-4. Somehow, however, the Lx-3 feels significantly stronger in vibrations, a full vroom or 2 stronger. There just doesn't seem to be an angle at which I can press the Lx-3 to my clitoris to really feel all its power and be stimulated by it. I'd rate the Lx-4 at a disappointing 3 vrooms.

The Lx-4 is very easy to care for, being totally submersible. Due to its small size and probable position during sex (in the thick of things!) it's likely that you'll get a good deal of its surface wet with something or other. At first, I was skeptical of the DC jack really being waterproof -- but it is! I would suggest cleaning it extra well and then drying around the port thoroughly to prevent any damage.

Since it's a vibrating toy, the Lx-4 is not dishwasher or able to be boiled. But a quick wipe down with bleach solution, soap and water or toy cleaner will do the trick.

The fitted indent holds and presents the Lx-4 delightfully, while the charger also has its own place. Nothing will rattle around, though the lid is not secured. I don't think the box would travel very well, however and no satin bag was included with the Lx-4.
