Penis pumps are well known as a device for those trying to increase their penis size. Does it work? There are as many followers who adamantly agree as there are those who disagree. One thing is for sure on that age old question, it does increase the size temporarily due to the amount of suction and blood flow in the engorged tissues.

Used to treat erectile dysfunction, originally, the pumps have gained a following as a masturbation toy. When used with proper care, these are a satisfying and stimulating addition to solo or couple sessions. When paired with a soft sleeve and light pressure, they can be manipulated in a slight up and down motion--paired with the suction, it is extremely stimulating. When used as a toy for couples, it is very visually exciting and is a fun diversion for foreplay!

This is made for use on the penis only. That being said, there are women who have used these as personal pumps. This is not recommended by the manufacturers--or by me!! The issue of vaginal prolapsing is very serious and harmful, requiring extensive surgery to correct and repair the damage.

The tube is clear plastic and has a faint aroma. This does disappear after washing, though. Plastic rates an 8 on the material safety scale, is able to be sterilized and is non-porous.

The sleeve is latex, and the 'rubber glove' aroma was pretty intense. This is a known high allergen material that many people have reactions to, including my husband. We did not use this sleeve due to the fact that my hubby is not latex compatible. What we did use in its place, is a silicone sleeve for his comfort and to make a good, solid seal.

The pump mechanism is metal, thin and kind of cheap feeling, though. After using this pump for about 14 non-consecutive hours, the pump broke. It must be the internal piston, since there is no air suctioning our when you pull the trigger. We have had problems previously with this design of pump.

The tube measures about 9" tall and is good for those who are about 6" in length. Any longer and you will not enjoy the feeling of hitting the top, my husband did and that was the end of that session with the pump. He uses this one as a masturbation item, only gets a bit of suction--not full power--and slides it cautiously up and down a bit.

The internal diameter of 2 1/4" is adequate for most men, just remember that when you are pumping, the suction adds girth before it adds length. You may enjoy the tightness or feel that you are getting squeezed to death. My husband can go either way depending on the evening he is using this pump. There are times he likes the tight feeling around the shaft and others that he wants to just experience suction.

This is not an easy item to hide. It is also completely non-discreet, so take care to store it away from prying eyes. There are many assumptions about the pumps and you do not want to get those started!!

The metal pump is more durable and easier to use than the plastic ones. However, they also tend to get bent piston shafts, which makes them unusable.

The pressure gauge is a great indicator for the amount of suction. It will allow you to make adjustments and keep track of the level of suction for help preventing damage to the penis. The most common issue with damaging penile tissue is over suctioning. This can damage the soft tissues and cause bending and other unpleasant effects.

Common sense and not over doing the session length is recommended when using pumps. Keep your sessions about 15 minutes long and take at least 30 minute breaks between each one. If your penis is feeling a bit sore, raw or numb--discontinue use.

Pull air tube off the top of the pump and wash thoroughly with soap and water. Make sure all lubes and fluids are removed, this is for safety, hygiene and ease of future use. Go back over the tube after it is dry, with a toy cleaner or bleach and water solution to sterilize the material.

The sleeves can only be sterilized if they are silicone. The latex sleeve that comes with this pump has been tossed due to my husband's allergy to latex.

We store the pump in a sock. The pump is stored in a cloth drawstring bag along with the pump lube. I suggest using a lube made for pumps, they are thicker and will not be sucked up into the tube like most of the thinner lubricants. It also creates a better seal and will help prevent leaks.
