AfroDite Superstar review

Candida Royalle is one of my heroes. Why? Because in addition to realizing that women and couples like watching erotic video, she also is aware that not everyone in this world is white (GASP! I know!), and further more, that race is not/should not be a fetish (such as in the line of Blackzilla movies). Rather, she has created an extension of her "Femme Productions" line of movies (which are geared towards women and couples, and feature sexy, but respectful and empowered sex) to include "Femme Chocolat" - a line geared towards and representing women of color.

I'm not a woman of color. Not even close. I'm a woman of the absence of color - I even burn THROUGH t-shirts when I'm at the beach. However, that doesn't mean that I wasn't able to enjoy (get off to) this movie. AfroDite Superstar starts out a little slow (well, slow for a porn that is), and seems almost like a mainstream movie. Never fear - the sex is soon to follow, and it is gooooood. Simone Valentino actually won a Feminist Porn Award for her part in this film, and it's easy to see why. She's engaged, bubbly, full of emotion, and oh, did I mention HOT?! The first sex scene is a solo scene with her, and it's very sexy, and enjoyable to watch.

The plot continues throughout the movie; unlike many movies which start with a plot, and drop it as soon as the action begins. Not here. It combines both. There's a super sex scene between two of the women (and the ink on one of them is to die for), but my favorite non-Simone scene takes place in, on and around a Hummer. I don't even like that damn car, but the sex that takes place with it makes me kind of want to go buy one (is that a bad thing?).

All in all, a great video, one of my favorites (and let me tell you, I've watched hundreds). While its target audience is couples and women of color, anyone would enjoy it, regardless of race or relationship status. It's amusing, entertaining, and chock full of hot sex. Enjoy!
