Nina Hartley's Guide to Multiple Orgasms - dvd by Adam & Eve - review by Miss Delicious

Nina Hartley's Guide to Multiple Orgasms is the first instructional sex video|Nina Hartley's Guide to Multiple Orgasms I've ever watched. I sorta wish this wasn't true, as I'd have a better idea on how to rate this one. As it is, I've got a rather mixed reaction to this particular DVD. On one hand, Ms. Hartley is definitely knowledgeable and intelligent when it comes to sexual matters. Her manner of speech and approach is very relaxed and easy to relate to. I get the feeling she'd be a great person to talk to in real life--the sort of person to whom you could reveal the most intimate details and not feel at all embarrassed. And, despite the fact this is an "instructional" video (which doesn't necessarily sound like that much fun), there is plenty of fun stuff to watch. Even in the beginning when Ms. Hartley has a pointer in hand and is going over a chart of male and female orgasms, she and her assistant Layla are wearing sheer blouses and peek-a-boo bras. From this more factual talk on orgasms, the video moves on to a demonstration of a multi-orgasmic woman (Aria) who is stimulated into orgasm by Ms. Hartley orally, vaginally, and anally. Finally the video moves on to Nicole Sheridan and Voodoo, who just can't seem to get enough. The whole DVD isn't too heavy on talk and features some very hot (and real) sex.

So, what's not to like? Well, maybe it's the subject, but really I'm not sure that I learned much watching this video, other than the fact that I'd love to come as easily and as many times as Aria does. There's no magic button to push, no particular formula, no exercises to perform which will make any person orgasm more than once. It all comes down to your state of mind and practice, practice, practice. In essence, this is an instructional video on something which *can't* be taught.

While I do appreciate Ms. Hartley's style, I found the overall editing of the video a little strange. Essentially there is no editing! She goes off on tangents, she trips over something on the floor, she drops a metal toy on the floor--the film just keeps rolling. It feels very much as though you are in the room with her, listening to a lecture. It's all relaxed and informal. I can see how this would be appealing to some folks and a turn-off for others. Call me uptight, but I'm a little bit in the latter boat. Although the informal style of the video didn't prevent me from understanding and appreciating the message, I can't say that I really enjoyed the somewhat sloppy feel. Maybe this is my lack of adult video watching experience coming through, but it was one of my immediate reactions to the video.

My final complaint? Well, I'm not sure just what Voodoo and Nicole Sheridan are demonstrating as far as the video is concerned. She does appear to come two times, but unlike Ms. Hartley and Aria, there's no talking or discussing what's going on. At that point I feel like the DVD moves from "instructional" to just plain old porn. Don't get me wrong--the sex is hot and Voodoo has a lovely big cock which is a joy to watch, but I feel like that scene doesn't have much to do with the message of the video. However, I can't completely knock these two because the sex is very real and very much like sex I've had before--minus the plastic sheet on the floor, of course!
