The Ultimate Guide ... unless you know how to read

Overall, this book was OK. On the cover, it was touted as "The Ultimate Guide To Sexual Fulfillment". I don't think it lived up to this claim. My wife and I, however, did enjoy investigating the validity of this claim together.

I was excited when our book finally arrived in the mail. As with our other orders, it was packaged discreetly. The contents were again labeled electronics. People are going to start to think I'm building a space ship or something.

My wife and I opened the box that evening and began our process of evaluating the book. I was surprised as it was smaller than I thought it would be. Acts of Love measured about 5 by 8 inches, but we found that it was packed with over 250 pages of explicit photos. In fact, that's pretty much all the book was, almost a photo-documentary of three couples and their preferred methods of having sex. This book was published in 1978, so hair styles were pretty dated. But because no one was wearing any clothes, everything else was timeless. About every other page had a small bit of commentary regarding the couple's experience in the photos.

Depending on how long you like to look at the pictures, you could probably make it through the book in about 20 minutes. As we read through the book, the commentary seemed so contrived, it was almost comical. However, the abundant color and black and white photos of the couples getting it on were more than enough to arouse me and my wife. We "read" the first 120 pages that night, decided our time was better spent having our own "experience", and decided to finish the book the next evening. Although nothing in the book was something I hadn't thought of before, it did make me think a little bit more about different ways to pleasure my wife that night.

One negative aspect to point out, some pictures showed couples using a toy for anal stimulation and later using the same one for vaginal stimulation. No condoms were used and there was no mention of potential hazards in this practice. I guess it was the 70s.

If your looking for a good sex guide, this probably isn't the first book I'd buy. If you're looking for something to visually stimulate you and give you some more ideas of different things to try, Acts of Love may work for you. Overall, I give it three stars.
