Roly poly - clitoral vibrator discontinued by Doc Johnson - review by jedent

What a cute little friend for the ol' sex box! The Roly Poly is in the classic shape of those Weeble toys we played with as kids--you remember "Weebles wobble but they don't fall down."

If only Doc Johnson had been able to harness the same dedication that the good people at Playskool had to defying physics and creating round bottom toys that didn't fall when they created such an awesome toy with such a weak vibrating motor in it. Talk about a let down. I was really gunning for my new little Weeble friend.

I just don't see the weak vibrations (advertised on the packaging as intense and powerful) as being enough stimulation for a lot of people. As a teasing or ticking back massager, sure. If we're talking foreplay. It just doesn't have enough kick to it.

Fantastic plastic is always a win with me because it's so easy to clean with just hot water and antibacterial soap. It's very smooth, and waterproof to boot! The handle is kind of rubbery feeling, though it says nothing on the box about what exactly the material actually is other than it's easy to grip, which I agree with. I just wish I knew what it was. I suppose it could be plastic but it isn't smooth like the rest of the vibrator and is sticky enough to get small bits of dirt and hair to stick to it.

I love the design of the vibrator because the grip is very nice and comfortable, and the round ball makes for easy gliding over your clit. Overall I think they hit the mark as fall as cute, because boy is it cute--even the packaging mentions how cute it is. Practicality would have been MUCH higher if the damn thing did its job though.

The batteries in this toy do come with the toy, always a plus...unfortunately they are teeny tiny little 1.5 volt guys that I don't really keep on hand nor have I seen in the store, otherwise I could test this out with batteries of a better brand to see if that could be the trouble. I don't see why this couldn't have used one AA battery, it's certainly big enough to house one.

I have to add that it's quiet, but that's probably not a good thing. Quiet does not mean it's up to something, it just doesn't do anything impressive enough to cause any noise. Nonetheless, being small and waterproof, it's very discreet.

On the lowest setting it's dull and droning, and turned up to its full speed it seems like the vibrational power stays the same, it just speeds up. Normally that means more power but not with this toy. I really have to stick this to the weak batteries powering the motor, which is also probably very weak. Underwater was no different as far as power goes, but it did not leak or anything.

Take care of this toy by washing it with hot water and antibacterial soap or simply wipe it isopropyl alcohol. As always, you can alternatively use your favorite toy cleaner. Because it is plastic you can use any of your favorite water, oil, or silicone lubricants.

The package is super cute just like the toy with almost a circus feel to it. The plastic is painted with sheer and sparkly pinks and purples, and it's incredibly easy to open with just the lift of a flap. Batteries included.

I hope to see this toy get a slight redesign with a more powerful battery and/or motor. Such a cute little thing to sit by its lonesome with all the other embarrassed toys that have arrived and weren't able to live up to their company's claims. (This is why I'm thankful for reviews!)

I used it on my clit for about two minutes before I gave up, realizing that it just wasn't going to do anything. I had to finish with another toy (surprisingly, a very cheap little vibe that retails on Eden for only $12.)
