Iconic smoothie - traditional vibrator by Jimmyjane - review by Kayla

The Iconic Smoothie Traditional Vibrator is a plastic, waterproof vibrator made by Jimmyjane. It's about seven inches long with a diameter of about an inch, and the plastic is very smooth with no seams on it. The vibrator includes the two AA batteries it needs to function, and it also includes a one-year warranty.

The packaging for this vibrator is pretty. It's pure white in design like most Jimmyjane products, and the box is very classy. It displays other vibrators from The Usual Suspects line, features of the vibrator itself, and a description about the vibrator. The packaging opens up easily to expose a description about the history of this iconic vibrator, and the back of that flap includes instructions for use including the care and cleaning. The vibrator itself is in a little tray that also includes the batteries. The vibrator's packaging is great for gift-giving, but it is a little bit large for storage, so you may not want to store it in this box.

I love the take that Jimmyjane took with this vibrator. They realized that the traditional, plastic vibrator tends to get re-made tons of different ways, so when they included it in their The Usual Suspects vibrators line, they basically stated that they knew they were doing an old classic, but they were hoping to do it better. The tagline for this vibrator line is "Enjoyed by many, Curated by us".

The Iconic Smoothie is basically your average traditional vibrator. I'm in love with traditional vibrators (probably because my first vibrator was one), so I'm always on the look-out for the next good traditional vibrator. Jimmyjane's Iconic Smoothie is made from odorless plastic, and it's very smooth. It's not silky, but your hands do glide right over the material of the vibrator with no issue. The vibrator has a slightly pointed tip, and it says "Iconic Smoothie" on the base of the vibrator. I've tried to scratch this off with multiple materials (fingernails, edge of the desk, pen), but it doesn't seem to come off, so I wouldn't worry about it flaking.

The vibrator comes with the two AA batteries that it needs to operate. They can easily be inserted, face-down, when the battery compartment is opened at the base of the vibrator. Along with the battery compartment, the base of the vibrator also includes the dial-turn which controls the strength of the vibrations. The dial-turn is texture while the base is not which makes it very easy for your hands to grasp the dial-turn instead of the base while trying to turn it. The vibrations can easily be adjusted through this dial-turn for your favorite setting.

The vibrations are a bit odd. Normally, with most vibrators, you have either buzzy or rumbly. For me, rumbly means that the vibrations can be felt deep-tissue-wise and that buzzy means that the vibrations are mostly surface-vibrations and that the vibrations will get weaker when pressure is applied. The Jimmyjane Iconic Smoothie has a different kind. The vibrations aren't nearly as powerful when a light touch is used, but when you apply pressure, the vibrations get much stronger. I think it's an interesting trait about the toy, and if you are the type of person that enjoys pressure, this will work great for you.

The biggest downside to this vibrator, for me, is the noise. It can easily be heard through a closed door on the highest setting. The lower settings are much quieter, but the highest setting is really where the power is at, and that's where I want to be at as well. While it doesn't matter much for me as we don't have reasons to be discreet, this vibrator is pretty darned loud on the highest setting, and it can be heard through a closed door. The lower ones are quieter, though, so if you know you'll stick to those, then it might not be a problem for you.

The vibrator seems like it should be stronger for the amount of noise that it puts out, but compared to a couple other traditional vibrators I've used, this one is just on the higher end of moderate vibrations. I feel like more power could have been gotten out of the two AA batteries, but I still feel like most women would probably be able to enjoy the vibrations that the Iconic Smoothie provides. I only use this vibrator externally as the feeling of hard, rigid plastic used internally never has really appealed to me. However, the vibrations on the Iconic Smoothie do go all over the body of the vibrator, so if you want to insert it, it is an option.
