Light-up lover sex toy review

Rabbit vibrator by Pipedream

Published: April 25, 2008
extremely useful review
The Light Up Lover is super sexy to look at and equally fun to play with, but overall, I neither love it nor hate it. The LED feature is incredibly sexy, but after battling with the beads and having to de-beak the vibrator, I'm a little sad... The Light Up Lover is more of a novelty item than anything else, but I'm still happy to have it my collection.
Pros:
Yummy to look at! Impressive length and girth, LOVE the LED lights!
Cons:
Beads slow and often stop when pressure is applied to the shaft, dials are uber-sensitive!
This toy was definitely designed
I can see clearly…

Lately I’ve had my fair share of less than impressive plastic. I enjoy getting sex toys, and I can barely wait to try them, but it’s always disappointing when I have to resort to dismemberment…

Hey Good Lookin’!

The Pipedream Light Up Lover is a 4-AA battery powered rabbit style vibrator, the difference being a hummingbird shaped clitoral stimulator instead of a rabbit head. The vibe itself is gorgeous! The jelly-like crystal clear purple shaft is a sleek ripple-ribbed masterpiece, complete with pearl-like rotating beads and an oscillating tip. The hummingbird clitoral stimulator has a built in LED light display that hypnotically switches through prismatic shades of red, blue, green and violet. This vibe begs to be licked, sucked and toyed with, and the rest, well… off with its head!

M-E-T-H-O-D of Modern Love?

Battery installation can be a little tricky because the batteries won’t stay put if the compartment lid isn’t properly aligned. There are two buttons and two dials designed to power the unit on/off, activate the LED light feature, adjust the vibe intensity, and adjust the oscillation speed. The features are very sensitive to touch, and the dials are close together, which often makes it difficult to adjust one feature without affecting another.

Make it hurt so good

I was immediately taken by the width and length of this vibrator. Six inches of insertable length and a diameter of just under two inches is no small package! I love the fact that insertion requires a slow steady technique. Working myself over a large oscillating vibe is more than scintillating. However, once fully inside, the beads and rotation are actually a little rough feeling. I tend to clench down when I’m playing with toys and as my muscles contract to meet the vibe, the bead rotation system often grinds to a halt. It starts up when I let off but muscle tension is natural, so it’s difficult to have to consciously tell myself to loosen up so my vibe won’t quit!

With the vibe fully inserted, the vibrating hummingbird’s beak pokes my clit -- Ouch! The beak (though pliable), when vibrating on med-high speed, becomes very unforgiving! It stings as it thrashes, which feels good for about 2 minutes, then it hurts! After several uncomfortable attempts, I bit the beak off. Call me a butcher, but at least it feels better!

Come on baby light my fire…

My favorite part is feeling the oscillating shaft; everything seems to hit the right places, and it certainly helps that this vibe looks sexy! The beads are awful but they jam up anyways, and I usually leave the vibe on medium because it packs such a punch on “high” that it literally leaves me feeling hammered. Though beakless and most often bead-less, there’s something about this Light Up Lover’s sensual pulsating light display, like a beacon in a pitch black room illuminating my smooth wet clit… Damn! That in itself elevates this otherwise “ho-hum” vibe to porn worthy status.
