Yes, that's right. The Silicone Butterfly Arouser is a misleading product. I am familiar with companies claiming a product is made from silicone when in fact it is made of TPR silicone but, sadly, this dual action vibrator is neither. I first questioned it's material when the package arrived and I quickly tore into it like anyone would who had just received a new pleasure item. The packaging was simple enough and lacked the scantily clad models I've seen numerous times and only advertised the product itself. The advertisement being that this vibe had a "High quality soft, pliable silicone head" as well as "Unscented soft silicone". Contrary to these statements, I located a small round sticker on the back that said, "Material TPE". Upon removing this vibe from it's cardboard display I noted a slight chemically smell which also is indicative of a non-silicone item. Here is where confusion set in and I contacted California Exotic Novelties through email to ask them to clear this up for me. They very promptly replied to inform me that this vibe is in fact made of TPE. Though TPE is phthalate free there is no silicone here! Bleh... For some reason, this instinctively made me want to hate this product. Perhaps it was because I felt... well... misled. I'm not sure but, I couldn't make myself hate this vibe though I did try!

Now that the material has been cleared up, I would recommend that you clean this toy with warm water and antibacterial soap or your favorite toy cleaner. It is a porous material and can't be sterilized so make sure and use a condom when sharing or switching from vaginal to anal use. It's recommended to only use water based or silicone lubes with this as well.

As I mentioned before, I just could not make myself hate this toy for many reasons. You see, I thought the flexible clitoral stimulator would be great for me personally because sometimes I want more direct stimulation and sometimes I want a more indirect stimulation to my clit and this did prove to work wonderfully for that but, it can be used so many different ways as well! There is ample length on the butterfly clitoral attachment (4 ½" from base to antennae tip) for it to be used by your partner while you rotate away on the shaft! Wow! Talk about dual use! There's just so many possibilities with this thing! It's really easy to operate too! There are three speeds of rotation for the head and 5 rows of non jamming plastic beads controlled via up and down arrows on one side of the control panel. The other side of the control panel has another set of up and down arrows that control the three speeds of vibration for the butterfly clitoral attachment. In the middle of the control panel is one last button that allows you to reverse the rotation of the head/beads and that's it! Really simple. There really are no variations or patterns with this but, depending on your preferences that can either be good or bad. I can get annoyed at too many patterns so I find pleasure in simplicity! There really didn't seem to be a problem with the rotation or vibration drawing power away from one another either. I clenched down pretty hard to test this out and while the beads did slow a bit from the pressure, the clitoral attachment kept on going without regard!

I love the design of the EZ load battery pack too! This is the second vibe I own that is designed like this and it is so easy! You unscrew the cap on the bottom and out slides a plastic battery holder that you pop the three AA batteries into before sliding back into the vibe. Screw the cap back on and your done! I'd love to see more vibes equipped with this!

Just so you know, this vibe is loud! I imagine it could be heard quite easily through a closed door in a quiet house so I definitely don't recommend this one if you require discretion. I've noticed that the majority of rabbit style vibrators have this problem as well so, you might want to give that some thought before making your purchase.

So, there you have it. Even though I was set on hating this vibe, I actually enjoyed it quite thoroughly! My main gripes about it being loud and not silicone were outweighed by my praises of it being phthalate free, the many uses for the flexible clitoral stimulator, the EZ load battery pack and the fact that it's waterproof(it joined me in the shower with no problems!)which makes cleanup super easy! It's worth a try!

The first time I used this vibe, I used it alone. It was simple enough to operate and I had no problems accidentally hitting the wrong buttons during my play session. The clitoral attachment was easy to bend into the correct angle for me and stayed in place fairly well although it will bend and need to be repositioned if you get a little carried away with your thrusting. I enjoyed pushing the ribbed belly of the butterfly against my clit but, found that I preferred the flutter of the antennae. As far as the shaft goes, I could feel the head deep inside of me rotating while the beads rotated right over my g-spot and drove me crazy! It was a good fit for me and suited me well.
