The Impulse Pocket Paks Egg is a toy you could be proud to own just by its looks alone. The clear plastic packaging gives you more than just a teasing glance at the contents within.

However, this is where the saying, 'Never judge a book by its cover,' comes in. I felt I was in for a great treat with the Pocket Paks Egg but I was to be sorely disappointed.

The Egg is silver and easy to clean but is not water-proof. The cord that attaches it to its control is sufficiently long for what most users would need. The control itself has only two buttons which is all that is needed to put the Egg through its 5 step program.

The Egg needs 2 AA batteries (which are not included) and one watch battery (which 2 are). The AA batteries control the vibrations and the pulsing.

I sometimes worry about inserting some toys inside of me because, by their shape or design, I feel that they would vibrate too much on my pelvic bone. The Egg, I believed, was one of those. However, it did prove me wrong in this aspect! What did disappoint me, though, was the strength of the vibrations.

I changed the AA batteries three times to make sure that it wasn't just dead batteries that were giving poor contact but, unfortunately, it didn't make any difference. The Egg just didn't get me turned on enough to even produce adequate lubrication. I did notice that the batteries weren't able to sit properly in the compartment and I do wonder if this has anything to do with how badly the Egg performed for me.

No matter how many times I changed the batteries and ensured that they were seated correctly, nothing could improve my experience of the Egg. I went through each of the settings in turn which are Low Vibration, High Vibration, Pulsate and Vibrate, High Pulsation and Low Pulsation. Personally, I felt that the pulsation was by far the strongest setting but I just couldn't relax enough to enjoy it! I was far too worried about whether the toy was going to stop mid-program or the batteries were going to die.

Incidentally, whilst I was using the Egg on its High Vibration setting, it stopped just a couple of seconds into the program. It did this a couple of times more even after a change of batteries.

Not a good thing at all when you're wanting and needing some quality pleasuring time to yourself!

On a plus note, it is good for hiding away in your pockets or a side compartment in your bag. Just don't leave it with the batteries in otherwise it just might well start vibrating!

I feel this toy didn't come up to expectations as to how a vibrator should perform. It would, however, be perfect for those new to sex toys or just wanting something to stimulate the erogenous zones of their partner. Its shape does make handling a bit tricky but as long as you have a good grip around the middle of the Egg, everything should be okay.
