Not So Sure About Essential

The Basic Essentials Slim Softee arrived broken, with only the highest setting of vibration working. It is very loud and can be jarring. The removable TPR sleeve is a very nice touch leading me to hope that in the future there might be other sleeves offered to go with the toy, that is if the design flaw is fixed allowing the vibrator to actually BE multi-speed.

Slim, soft and user friendly, removable TPR sleeve.
Cons
Vibrator arrived broken, very loud on highest setting, might be a tad too slim for some.

extremely useful review
The Basic Essentials Slim Softee is rather unassuming and non-threatening toy for a newer user or someone who prefers a slimmer barrel on their insertable toys. It is supposed to be multi-speed but mine has only one speed and it's the maximum. The toy is rather loud and can be jarring, I have no idea how loud the lower settings are but the highest one can be heard through a closed door and when under covers.

The toy has a removable sleeve made of soft TPR and is ribbed in a sort of swirl pattern with a curved tip to enhance G-spot stimulation. The diameter of the toy is a very slim 1 in. but the curved tip of the sleeve did an adequate, if not stellar, job of reaching my G-spot and providing an enjoyable experience. The length of the toy is 6 1/2 in. with 5 1/2 in. insertable.

As I was 9 months pregnant when I received this toy it was a departure from my usually larger toys. The slimmer, softer toy didn't irritate the swollen and sensitive tissues of my vaginal canal and the vibrations likewise did a wonderful job of clitoral stimulation even though all that was available to me was the highest setting. I would be forced to assume that the lower settings would have been a bit too light and gentle for me but as it didn't give me the opportunity to check I cannot say for certain.

The swirl pattern on the sleeve I could feel, barely, but they didn't provide much in terms of stimulation. The sleeve is TPR which means it can be cleaned with soap and water, and a good spritz of antibacterial toy cleaner. It is still porous, however, so a condom is always recommended if you plan on sharing this toy.

The vibrator is made of hard plastic and is see-through which is a unique feature. It is also waterproof and easy to clean with soap and water or a good toy cleaner. It is recommended that silicone or water lubes be used with this product, though if you are using the hard plastic vibe without the sleeve any lube would be fine. The Vibrator takes 2 AAA batteries.
As the vibrator doesn't have a flared base or any other safety feature at the base of it I would not recommend it for anal play. It is very slim and could, if slippery from lube, get away from the user and lead to a not so lovely emergency room visit!

The toy comes packaged in an easy to open plastic sleeve that is not offensive and could be used to store the vibrator if you don't have issues with needing total discretion. The paper insert doesn't show a half naked model in a sexualized pose, it has a simple picture of the toy both with and without the TPR sleeve on the back and some information about the toy on the front. There is also a place to register the toy listed on back of the toy package.
Follow-up commentary
After just minimal use this toy's vibrating function no longer works. It arrived at my door broken, having only one speed available. Such a delicate toy is not a good fit for me as I tend to be a bit rough on them.

Jarring is exactly the adjective I used to describe the high setting on this toy. It's SO LOUD.
    Great review!

It really is the only adjective that adequately describes the sound...it is so unexpected from such a small toy! Still for someone who doesn't like large barrels on their dildos it should do the trick...provided it actually works!
