It takes me quite a lot of time to get comfortable enough with someone to trust them as either a top OR bottom.

Believe it or not, I can think of at least two really amazing pick up scenes I've done recently. Always in public of course, and with people who were excellent communicators and had good energy all around. But everyone has different comfort zones...

Ok, I'm receiving an overwhelmingly negative response here but I think I should have added an additional option- how many of you are members at clubs/dungeons, or regularly attend play parties in your community? I do scenes with new people at parties from time to time, and I've NEVER had a negative experience because of the standards of behavior within our scene, and I know my friends and the DM has my back. Shit does happen, but I'm generally good about not putting myself in those situations (at least not in public!)

I would consider some things, like impact play, or playing with dommes that are good at what they do (electrosex, impact play, fire cupping, etc). If my partner was with me, I would have him there. Otherwise I would try to remove the sexual aspect to it for me. Ex: I once got flogged by a woman at a non-kinky party, but it was on my back, not on my ass (I find I actually prefer flogging on my back, but for other impact play I prefer my ass). So shrug. It depends.

I'm too paranoid about STIs. If they are at a play party or dungeon, I hate to say it, but I'd automatically think they were a risk for transmission.

If it was my first time meeting them but I had talked to them or knew them/their reputation through friends and considered it safe, yes I would.
