Looking forward to this. I have been wanting to get my feet wet in the Gives Back again. Going to check out the other threads and see what is going on!

OK Just checked out the last thread, I posted a suggestion in there but I will post it here so others can see it.


I would love to do Toys For Tots.

As far as the gift part of it, we could donate points and convert it to cash to buy the toys with?

Last year when we adopted the families the points were donated, and checks disbursed to shop for the families. I really enjoyed doing that, being able to shop for the families and posting my adventure up here on the forum. I would love to do that for toys for tots.

As far as clothing drives and things like that, I am still lost as to how we go about these. I donate clothes several times a month to different places around my area, but I would love to help out another drive for a particular cause.

Bumping this! I want to let everyone know about a site called Freecycle. If you don't know already, freecycle is a group based on giving things away that you would otherwise throw away. I use this site to get things, and to donate things I don't need as well.

As far as I know freecycle is nationwide. It is a yahoo group here, simply go to freecycle.org and search for your area.

I don't think I've ever taken the time to really look at freecycle, but it sounds like it would really come in handy when I'm looking to start furnishing a house.

Hey everyone. I'm going to try and stay present but I am at my mom's and her computer sucks. Trying to fix it; I just upgraded her ram but the CPU is always at 100% for some reason I turned it on at 645 and I'm just posting this now. If I can't keep up I will be chiming in later as I have looked forward to this all week.

Question: I work closely with a few people at my local women's center, however the shelter itself isn't taking donations. My worker told me I can give her the things I have, so how should I take a picture of that? I don't think she will want her face showing

thanks, we are going on vacation later this week to a homeschool conference in schaumberg, so that will be a nice break from clearing out his things.
