There is something that I failed at recently that I wish I could figure out how to do better, but I ... more
I'm good at cleaning the house, actually. Once I got an iPod, it stopped being such a chore.

I don't like to fail either, but I've accepted it before. I was on track to get a position as a professor, but setbacks made me give up on it.

A truly noble profession. Best of luck.

Honestly, I suck at it anyway, but toddler doesn't help. I'm not good at the whole, "incorporating your children into the process" crap. I like to do it, ONCE, CORRECTLY, and be done with it. Kids are not conducive to my controlling nature.

Thanks. Let's get my Mr halfway through school first and get my old loans paid, then we'll see what happens.

Kids are chaos amid potential calm. I'm lucky that I can get them out of the house occasionally. You?

Let's just say, I'm lost in a specific area and it's frustrating. I'm pitiful at it.

Well, this isn't a chat. People can read this tomorrow. I know there are some things I don't want to discuss on here tonight for the "world" to see tomorrow (well, later today, I guess).

My 5 year old is in kindergarten and rocking it. My 3 year old is the issue. Aside from potty training hell, she's exceedingly mischievous and doesn't let me get much done without getting into other things.

I'm trying to think of something clever that doesn't sound like I'm coming down too hard on myself.... I can't.

My kids are the same. My oldest is a blessing - not perfect mind you, but a great, great kid. His sister has her moments when she can be cruel, conniving, and deceitful - and he's usually the target.

We all have things in our life at which we fail. It's how we deal with that failure that matters.

But you know that.

Both of mine are girls. THere's that "Extra" cattiness and equal antagonistic, conniving behavior. Not to mention, the fact that I was an only child til I was 11 and my Mr is an only child. We don't know how to do all this "sibling" crap.

My wife and I come from homes where we each had a younger sibling. We don't know how to do the sibling crap either

Our kids, and our siblings were each of the opposing sex, so I haven't a clue how to deal with two of the same gender. Ugh.

The stories that my mom told me about her and her sister involved her almost bashing her head in over some chocolate milk.

I wish I could ask her for advice now.

I don't ask my mom for advice, and she won't give it. I suppose I'm too stubborn. Of course, my sister and I barely spoke for ten years after I left for college, so perhaps she's not the best person to ask about raising kids.

I *could* ask my stepmom, but I don't know how old her girls were when she left for the military, so I don't know if this age is something she dealt with.

My mom would give me advice, if I could ask her.
