I had two dogfish ales tonight. Both were, understandably, excellent. One they collaborate with Stone Brewing Company out of San Diego, and that one was especially good.

That sounds very cool. That reminds me, in the mid 90's there was this blueberry beer we used to get her in Philly, that was so good. It was something like 'blue moon' but there is a beer called blue moon now that is not it. There was another blueberry beer that was not so good too. But the one I remember was a nice pleasant beer, with this very subtle hint of blueberry. It was so great. Maybe I should waste some time on Google one day and track it down!

LOL. Yeah, why can't it ever be that we were fighting off a grizzly or rescuing a child from a mangled car or something. You know, something.....respecta ble?

Oh man... it might have been on Louie... but this one comedian was talking about how he pulled a muscle in his neck, giving his wife the finger behind her back. It was soo funny, because... we've all been there. hahahahahaha

Sour beers are becoming more and more common. With some effort, you can probably find something in that vein that you are looking for. The two sour beers I had tonight were a raspberry-hibiscus and a cherry-chocolate. Both were pretty amazing (if you're in to that sort of thing, of course).

There's a good reason why they were selected for that reality TV series about brewing...

YEAY! So many people make fun of me for wanting to go... uh I love old places, one of my majors focuses on criminology/soc and the other on law enforcement, and I love all things creepy. It's perfect for me!

It is pricey?

They and a Northwest brewery were the finalists for that show. Dogfish has exploded in popularity, while the NW brewery has remained only locally popular. New Belgium is another similar brewery to Dogfish you'd probably like.

To prepare you, sour beers taste like a combo of beer, wine, and hard cider. There's probably a better explanation than that out there, but that will put you in the ballpark. Just don't expect it to taste like "beer". It certainly isn't for everybody. And, yes, I've always assumed you'd try "anything"

I can't remember how much it cost, but I don't remember it being unreasonable. There is actually another giant OLD prison in Philly that was more recently closed that I just found out about. It looks a lot like eastern state. I don't know if you ever heard about it, there was a famous incident of conducting dermatology experiments on the inmates. I don't know if they do any kind of tours, but I would love to see that place too.

i had a really good hard cider tonight. The bottles are in the other room where my bf is sleeping atm. I think it was called crooked tree or crooked cider or something.

Gotcha. I have had some tings on the fringe of what you are describing, but never to that extreme. But yeah, I can totally picture what you are describing. That reminds me, I had recently tried this mixture of chocolate and wine. It was interesting, but I am not a huge wine fan.

Cideries are really taking off around here (and presumably across the country). My faves are the dry or semi-dry ones that are dry hopped. Mmmmmm.....

So, how's school going. About done with the your degree?
