Isn't it great when they think going to the library is a treat!

I've been stung by scorpions too many times to think they're cool. But I guess they do have a sort of charisma simply for being so tough.

As an editor, I get turned on more by exquisite writing than by explicit sex--but when the two are combined, wow!

(On the other hand, the writing style shouldn't distract from immersion in the sex.)
Yeah, if you can get both great writing and intense sex... WOW!

I stepped on one at the park not too long ago. I like them because they are so powerful to be so small.

I'm so glad I live somewhere where there are NEVER scorpions hanging out in parks.

Hi Libraries are excellent, and a totally fitting reason to be late for the book club meeting
Libraries are excellent! I've always imagined that there were lots of interesting little beings that lived in the library and came out and did all sorts of interesting things after everyone went home. Library elves or somesuch.

That is such a great thought. I love imagining little magics like that, just living quietly in special places

There are all kinds of things around here. They are the least of our worries. Rattlesnakes and copperheads trump them by far. They have all been out a lot because of the heat and lack of rain....shivers.

there is! library mice, we picked up the book "Library mouse" today for the little man.

I also prefer good writing over intense sex but love when both are together

I will move them to a safe place, as well as catterpillars and things like that. C says I'm silly but that he loves me for it.
I even try to rescue worms when I'm digging in the garden. I'm so weird. There are only three things that I willingly kill: cockroaches, scorpions and click beetles. I didn't use to kill the click beetles, but they kept flying in my face while I was reading and scaring the hell out of me, so now they must die. (They are attracted to the reading lamp, I think.)

Yikes. I do my fair share of bitching about the cold in Canada, but I think I will gladly take cold over creepy-crawlies any day

When I was a child and went to get my first library card, the library in town was this tall skinny building. I remember the books went up to the ceiling and the librarian would have to get on this ladder that rolled along the shelves to grab the ones at the top. I thought that was the coolest thing every.

I swear if I ever win the lottery or something like that, I will own my own library in my home. And the books will go to the ceiling. Not to mention the rest of the design I have in mind.

Lololol! I am a fanatic about roaches....and they are everywhere in Texas. The big ones just plain freak me out because they fly.

Wouldn't that be wonderful. I would totally make my house a more magical-welcoming place (somehow!) if there was any chance of attractive helpful elves or such

I kill spiders and mosquitos if they come close, but let everything get a pass. I'm a sucker for snails, I make sure to move them so noone steps on them in the walkway

I tend to sort of imagine beings inhabiting just about everything around me. Little spirit beings mostly, but sometimes little physical beings. Most of them are benevolent or indifferent. For some reason, I almost never imagine ones that are evil or vindictive. I have a weird imagination.

It was over 100 here for over a month with virtually no rainfall since the end of last year. Everything is coming out in search of food and water. It is still hitting 90 in the afternoons.

When I was a kid there was a Book-mobile that came around, a little library on wheels. It was the best thing ever.

I'll have to see if I can get a copy. I like reading creative children's books at times. And I do love libraries.

I want a home library that looks like a library, books on built ins on all the walls and rows inside the room, organized alphabetically and by genre! We have a pretty large childrens book collection right now, but I wish we had the space for a bigger adult one.

Well, imagining little evil creatures all around is totally way less fun Or at least.. more paranoia-inducing? Benevolent or indifferent is the way to go!

I do the same thing. I'll generally leave things alone outside, but if they get in my house, they're on my turf and will perish.
