I have to admit I was disappointed. I thought the scenes and plot were totally disjointed. I think there was an opportunity to take it either the erotic/sensual route, such as with the massage scene, or the opposite direction and make it slap stick comedy porn. Somehow it muddled in the middle and just didn't work for me.

my thoughts exactly. well put, kindred.

i was set up to really enjoy it... the opening scene with the flashback from the previous 'masseuse' had me stoked... it seemed so unlike any porn i'd ever seen! high production, humor, a PLOT god forbid... but the actual film had nothing to do with the flashback and was altogether confusing.

This is very similar to how we felt about it. I watched it with my partner and he kept getting bored with some parts and skipping scenes so I had to rewatch it by myself. I was disappointed, I don't know what I was expecting exactly but it fell short.

I have to say I agree with you Kindred. It has possibilities as well as a great cast that I've loved in other movies, but this one was quite disjointed. But maybe that was partially on purpose, like an extension of Kayden's multipersonality charachter for whom life must be very disjointed

At the time I was thrilled to be getting Masseuse 3 after I'd watched the trailer, but wish I had of been offered Cherry instead!

Keep in mind that I didn't direct any of The Masseuse series. I was only the writer of the first 4 episodes. I wrote that role for Samantha Ryan specifically, as I had worked with her many,many times as a director when I was with Girlfriends Films. I made a promise to my girls (the performers) that when I left GF I would always try and give them work on my projects. Robby D was good enough to respect the roles that I wrote for specific girls and cast them.

Samantha is very multi-talented and a wonderful singer. The first script I wrote for her (the first script I ever wrote in the adult industry, actually)was for her. She played a paino teacher in a GF film called "Twisted Passions 6".


As far as Robby D adding her singing to the BTS, that was a great idea! She deserves extra attention.

I think Samantha might have a song or two on You-tube. Look it up. She doesn't work for DP in any contractual way, so, yes, she will do music outside of her work in adult films.

This is the only Porn movie (series w/ Cherry 1 and 2) I know of that used an accomplished mainstream actress in a non-sex role. Any issues you had anticipated that did not pan out vs. ones you did not anticipate with this ground breaking approach? Loved both Cherry 1 and 2 BTW- brilliant!!

I forgot that you did not direct Masseuse 3. Do you feel Robby D was true to your original story? Or did he take artistic license and alter it? And if he altered it, how did your original vision for the film differ?
