It's not really so much a matter of time as much as it is what you do. If you write solid reviews and are active on the forums, it doesn't take too long...couple weeks to months or so.

I'm not really sure what you mean by "establish yourself" or "gain popularity".

But I can tell you what my experience with EF has been like. I came here, and started doing whatever I wanted to do. I wrote reviews however much I felt like, participated on the forums however much I wanted to, etc. I enjoyed it then and I enjoy it now - but I don't worry about what other people think, or being popular. I'm just here to have a fun and engaging hobby. The rest isn't so important to me.

So I guess my answer to your question would be: I don't know. I don't know if I'm currently "established" or "popular", but I don't really care either.

Get involved. Post here on the boards, write reviews. Those two things will be great for getting you noticed, if that's what you want, but also for getting you involved in a great community.

4-5 months, maybe? I just wrote the best reviews I could, with images for extra usefulness, and participated on the forums a lot.
