I'm pretty sure this question has already been asked somewhere, but I can't for the life of me find it again. Anyway, my question is a little different.

We have just recently started exploring the world of anal. Last night I used my fingers and a small toy on my partner and everything went smoothly and he enjoyed it. But then afterward, we noticed he had leaked onto the bed. Sorry if this is kind of gross but I'm looking for an explanation so I can keep it from happening again.

It was our first time using an anal toy on him. We also used a new lube (System JO H20 Anal). I did a little research and found that the glycerin in the lube can cause a hyper osmotic effect. So that makes sense to me.

So many anal lubes (and lubes in general) have glycerin in them. I was wondering if my theory is correct and if anyone else has had this trouble?

Actually sounds like a few things going on - not having been there in the room, I can't say but I've never had an experience with anal sex when there wasn't some sort of fecal residue present. Either due to overuse of lube, poor diet, not having evacuated the bowels completely...

And this my friend, is why I refuse to do that shit. All puns intended.

I hope someone else has better advice for you.

I've never had an issue with fecal matter or residue during anal sex. I always make sure to take a bowel movement and then a shower. I begin warm up in the shower and check for any fecal matter that might be there. Usually there is only a small amount. I wash up and then I am ready for anal. I will not have anal, if I did not do this. I'm too scared that I will have a totally embarrassing experience.

He did take a BM a couple hours before and washed up in the shower right before. I guess maybe we could attribute it to poor diet but I'm still leaning towards the lube.

I don't think we used too much lube. I only put as much as he needed to be comfortable. I'm still confused about this and though it was completely ok with me... I mean, shit happens... We cleaned everything up right away and no harm done but he was pretty embarrassed and we'd like to do what we can to keep it from happening again.

Put a towel down on the bed. If you're playing around back there then he's going to relax the muscle, and any lube you've squirted up there will be prone to ooze back out again. If you'd rather it didn't come back out discoloured, then it might be worth investing in a douche for him to use beforehand.

1. What goes in must come out.
2. The anal sphincter is designed to contain SOLID or mostly solid waste, not liquid.
3. Even thick lube, once warmed to body temp, WILL be VERY thin and watery.
4. Thus leaking is NORMAL and EXPECTED and NOTHING TO STRESS OVER.

Buy a nice waterproof mattress pad if you are into anal play with lots of lube (which should ALWAYS be part of anal play) and you MAY want to also get like a Liberator Thro...a nice, waterproof (and lube proof) sheet/blanket, to up UNDER you during and after anal play. That way if there is some leaking that night, you just toss the thing in the wash, smile, kiss and go on your marry way.

Ha, love this response. It seems that if you two aren't totally comfortable with a little messiness it might be best to hold off on the anal play. I agree that lube does get extremely runny and discolored. A throw is a wonderful idea! Hell, just have anal in the shower. But if anyone is embarrassed the sexy time will suffer.

This was extremely helpful, thanks!!

I really just wanted to make sure that everything was all good and normal. Since we're still really new to anal play but we're both really enjoying it so far, I don't want anything to suddenly go wrong.

I had my partner read this thread too so he feels much better now and we're good to go!

We actually just put a towel down last night, just in case.. and everything went smoothly. I understand what you mean about the lube getting watery and I see now how that leaking can just happen.

I agree. My partner is much more at ease now. We're really new to anal so we've been taking it slow and just trying to get as much information as we can.

Thanks for your help! We both feel a lot better about this now.
