One of my GF's just informed me that on every Fathers Day, she has "gifted" her hubby with "something he has never had from me". They have been married twelve years now, so that is a lot of "new things". One year, their second, per her recollection, she offered him up her bottom as a treat. That's a pretty cool idea... but generally Father's Day reminds me more of my dad than of my lover, so I don't think I've ever been particularly aware that it's Father's Day when planning "surprises." If I were going to do something like that, it would be just on a random weekend.
That said, I'm always willing to do anything new (except the four hard boundaries that I've got), but I'm usually a 'talk about it first' instead of 'hey I bought you xy and z things' sort.

That's cute. My boyfriend and I don't have kids, so we've obviously never celebrated Father's Day together.
