Personally, I am a fan of the Tantus B Bomb which is made of silicone.

We like the Water Missile link - but technically it's not a great anal vibe because it doesn't have an adequate 'safety flare'. I also have a vibrating anal plug that I don't see on the site anymore - but at 1.5" it takes a little patience for a beginner (like me). It's similar to this one link

I'd love to try something like the Lelo Billy link - but in my opinion it's way over priced.

The Nexus G play medium (the one I have) is real nice, just does not stay in. It also comes in a small version, although I can not find it

Silicone toys are great for anal. Will it be used on a man or a woman? If it's a woman then the prostate-targeting features of some toys won't be as useful.

What size are you looking at? The Tristan 1.5/Anniversary Edition is a good vibrating plug, but it is a bit bigger than a beginner might like.
