Do you buy a real/live tree every year or do you have an artificial one that you use?

I like one of the local places near my house because they usually only sell the trees that are from an area that has too many trees in one location. That cuts down on the wasting. I recycle my tree when we buy a real one, so it goes to good use. Some animals can eat part of it and the other part can be made into many things.

We haven't put up a tree since my grandma passed away 8 years ago. She and I would always decorate the tree, so its just not the same.

We used to put up a live tree every year until several years ago we went and cut one, put it up, and watered it. Within a week, every needle fell off and I took it down ( several weeks before Christmas). Hubby sat it outside on the deck one night when it was raining. The next morning I got up and noticed a furry paw sticking out from the stand..he had sat it down on our cat and killed him. We have had artificial tree ever since!!

We buy the Douglas fir, I think.... The needles hardly ever fall off...maybe a very minimal amount...

I prefer a real Noble fir to a fake tree, but we don't put up trees anymore. I did bought a living tree a few years back and planted it in the front yard, but some kind of bacteria killed it two years later.

Just put up our tree tonight. My wife and daughter buy it - I put it up - thhey decorate it - then strip it and I get rid of the carcass.

Allergic to real and have a baby who is allergic to a number of things, so we are very careful.
