When there is a holiday that invovles a cake (birthdays, vday or something of the like) do you normally buy store bought or bake it yourself?

How does it usually work out in the end? Do you try to bake, then butcher THEN go back to teh store for a store bought one?(lol yeah, its happened to me lol!)

Also, Which one is better, taste wise, in your opinion?

I ALWAYS bake our desserts, make most meals from scratch but I love to cook and seem to have a natural talent for it.

Depends on what it is and how much time I have. I usually end up just buying something because I was too lazy to bake, lol.

I buy stuff. I hate cooking and hate the cleanup even more. Plus every baked good I've attempted to make tastes AWFUL unless it was a mix or something.

If there's time and I'm allowed to I usually prefer to bake the cake myself, doing so allows for a much cheaper (and versatile) cake that you can decorate any way you see fit...and decorating is half the fun! =3
