We usually take it down right around New Year's as long as we don't get lazy.

It really depends for us. If we have a living tree then we need to take it down sooner then a fake tree but usually a fake tree stays up for awhile. I'm in no real hurry to end the joy of Christmas lol even if it's a week or two into the new year lol

Some times until the thing changes color. One year we kept the tree up till March. Every holiday we redecorated it. Valentine's with hearts, and I hate to say it but on Marin Luther King Jr Day we found a bunch of pictures of him and cut them out to put on the tree.

We take it down the morning of the 31st. And the have a CHRISTMAS TREE BURNING PARTY!! for new years eve. Everyone looks forward to the bonfire, food and drink with friends and they get to get rid of their trees as well.

Sometime before March. lol. Usually the tree is taken down mid-to-late January, and then any random light strands hung up around the house are taken down once they finally give up and burn out, usually mid-April. We use them as night lights in the living room and girls' room.
