My son used to own the entire collection and I've read the first few books -- I don't remember the titles any more.

I found out about them when I always stayed at my best friend's house during elementary school years. I would always wake up much earlier than her so I would just grab one of her books from her huge collection and read them. I loved them!

First one I ever read? Egg Monsters from Mars

...didn't everyone in the 90's? xD
I swear they were even more popular than Animorphs.
Actually, Goosebumps may well be part of the reason I still enjoy reading so much, they were exciting to read but so short that I could easily finish one in an afternoon and not have to leave myself on a proverbial cliffhanger.

I think the first one I ever read (and owned, coincidentally) was Ghost Beach.

In elementary school those were some of my favorite books to read, though i really cant remember much of the series aside form that my school had a large collection and they were very popular. I remember much more about the TV series, since it would air every year for the month of october, and is currently running on Netflix!

They totally were, which was weird to me since I preferred Animorphs.

Goosebumps was/is awesome though. I remember a few episodes of the TV show and a lot of the movies, plus the various spin off book series, and the "pick your own adventure" type books. Goosebumps was everywhere!

I LOVED those. I actually learned to read by them because they were the books my grandfather would buy me. They started my love for both horror and reading!

I loved the Goosebumps series! I used to read them all the time when I was a kid. My elementary school would have them in the library but in order for you to check it out you had to prove to the librarian that you could actually read it. I totally could but I had trouble reading out loud as a kid so she wouldn't let me check them out until I showed her my own copy of it one day, lol.

My favorite book was Zombie School, where it was a "pick-your-own-ad ventu re" type layout.

I loved it, but I was an incredible chicken. I still get scared pretty easily now, so you can imagine...

I loved R.L Stine's books as a kid! But I sort of skipped Goosebumps and went straight for his Fear Street series. I got into so much trouble for it. Apparently it's not appropriate for someone in third grade to read them LOL I did have a few goosebumps I enjoyed reading though, I liked the flip around ones where you got to choose how the story went.

I did. Those were the only books I read when we had to spend an hour at the library back in grade school.

I read a few, and they completely horrified me! (I was a huge scaredy-cat )
The only one that still stands out to me was about some kids who get a magic/cursed deck of cards at a yard sale or something, and are transported to a different world that was really weird/bizarre. Even now it seems really out of place compared to the other Goosebumps books! Wish I could remember what it was called.
