Posting the midnight movie premier poll made me think of other crazy things I've done late at night. One of them was standing in line for hours and hours to get new Harry Potter books as they were released.

The last one, Deathly Hallows, really took the cake. I was at Borders for over 6 hours. Luckily I was definitely not alone and they had games and contests to keep us busy. So there I was...20 years old and dressed in my Severus Snape t-shirt and Slytherin green school girl skirt waiting with all the other obsessed fans arguing over Severus's loyalty. (I knew he was good all along!!) *sigh* Good times, good times!

Have you ever done anything like that for a book?

I stood in line for the last three Harry Potter books. (I got hooked just before Order of the Phoenix was published.)

I stood in line to get into the premier book store in East Berlin, when there was still the DDR. But that really was to keep the number of people in the store to a number that the secret police (Stasi) could comfortably manage.
