Actually we just saw it the other day...I finally understand the hype. xD
It was pretty good, I'll probably buy it on DVD sooner or later.

Love Battle Royale but really enjoyed the Hunger Games as well. They've set a release date for Hunger Games #2. It's in November of this year. My partner and I are excited.

I've yet to see the film. Books were good, though.

There's no way that the author didn't borrow ideas from Battle Royale, in my opinion, after watching both and reading The Hunger Games series. However, I have a soft spot for The Hunger Games because I like the main character. There's not a lot of action / fighting chicks out there, the world could use more of them. I grew up wanting to be Indiana Jones because Lara Croft wasn't around yet (and even then I think she's more of a sexy figure for guys). Sometimes girls want adventure...and there's not a lot of cool chicks for us to look up to.

It was a great movie (first one). LIked the book too, not a fan of the rest of the series though.

Yes. Love it. Big fan of the books and the first movie. I think they could have done better on the first movie, but eh.

And while there are some really big similarities between HG and BR, I think there are some big differences. In BR (the movie, still haven't had a chance to read the book), you have some main characters you follow, but you don't really get attached to them, and in HG, you do.
