True Blood Season 4 (beware, spoilers for aired episodes)

Was anyone else squeeing like I was last night? I thought it was a terrific start to the season. Sookie coming back after a year was a nice bit of fae lore, and an interesting way to move into new plot lines. I'm so happy that both Jesus and Lafayette and Jessica and Hoyt are still together. Proud of Jason because it seems like he's come into his own in the past year. I totally knew that Sam shot Tommy in the leg, and I'm curious how he came to hang around Hoyt's mama. And then there's Eric. I could just stare and listen to the man talk all day. Preferably while he's shirtless

Oh, I was thrilled that the season finally started! And I agree with you on all your points. Jason seems really grounded now. But Bill seems like a real douche as the king of where ever. Sorry he is in charge of Eric.... and yeah, I could look at that man all day.

As soon as they said Sookie's house sold I knew Eric bought it.
I like how the show sticks with the books somewhat, and also goes off on its own tangents.
Why isn't there a True Blood poll for which male character people prefer? Because Eric would get 90% of the votes.

So I'm excited to see the amnesiac!Eric storyline, but a couple things from the last episode kinda shocked me. Claudine showing up really drove home how far the show has taken the fairy plotline away from the books. Also, was anyone else a little freaked by the rapefest Jason is the victim of?

Oh my gosh, I'm so excited to find this thread! I have no other friends who watch this show, so I have no one to rant about it with! I haven't made up my mind about this season yet...Everything is so wild! It's like they're going for the craziest stuff possible I was shocked by so many of the new developments. Some of them are awesome and some of them suck...For example:

Bill Compton is the vampire king of Louisiana!? Tara's a cage-fighting lesbian? Andy's a V addict? Lafayette has a really stupid-looking mohawk? Tommy's found Jesus (or pretending to have) after Sam shot him in the leg? Sam has joined a herd of shapeshifting horses? Jason’s being turned into a WerePanther?

In the last episode, here were some things to think about/discuss:

-Jessica glamouring Hoyt. NOOO...Why? D: They're so cute together! Upsetting...And what's up with that creepy-ass dollie?
-Bill is an especially cruel/strict king. What was up with sentencing that poor vamp to the true death when those people tricked him into being caught on film feeding on someone?
-UGH, EW! Debbie cleaned up and is back with Alcide? I guess I prefer Debbie+Alcide to Sookie+Alcide...I really can't stand Sookie.
-Crystal and her spooky, inbred, hillbilly family gangraping Jason. Messed. Up. The poor baby...
-ADORABLE amnesiac Eric! I loved his face after he nommed on Claudine. Whoopsies! hehe

Yay, True Blood! Can't wait for next week!

Eric is such a wonderful mess of contradictions. He tortures and kills any who get in his way, but he also cares deeply about his child Pam. He feels bad about tracking mud on Sookie's floor, but then he eats her fairy godmother.
