Do you answer poll questions because they are in poll form?

Contributor: Azule Azule
I've noticed every poll question has about 10x more responses than most basic discussion posts. Do you answer poll questions because they are polls?

Yes I will answer a poll question whether or not I care about the topic as long as it's a poll.

I'm slightly more likely to check out a thread with a poll, but if none of the poll options work for me, I'll generally ignore the poll itself and just go ahead and speak up.

Discussion posts are more points :p

Polls are really only interesting when they're a good topic/something I'm genuinely curious about.

I like to make threads in the poll form, as long as there are interesting choices for others to pick, and if the voters have more to add, they'll still post their comments after voting in the polls.

I start at the top of the forum and move on down. I don't care if there is a poll or just a discussion I'm game.

I think that polls get more people because frankly they take more time and effort to make. Sometimes I feel like one person makes a MILLION discussions in a day (usually they're just new) but if they take the time to make a well-thought out poll I like it better. It's also a bit more fun for me to get a comprehensive view of what everyone else has to say without reading the entire thread.

It's about the quality - sometimes poll questions seem inane or repetitive. Other times the options are not well thought out - and then there are those that I just can't relate to.

Polls can be fun - if they are well constructed.

It's much easier to answer the question sometimes.

I usually only make a discussion post if I am looking for questions that need answers quick. So far I have only done a couple of polls, but I do notice they get more answers then discussions, unless it is on something good.

I like the polls because you are getting points for voting and commenting. But I like them better than others.

I like answering polls, it gives me a chance to share my opinion with little effort, but more often than not I decide after voting that I want to expand on it with a comment.

It depends on the day.

It depends on the day, but generally I post more on poll discussions because they attract my attention, not because they are poll discussions.

It really just depends for me. I will pretty much vote in any poll that is relevant to me, and it goes the same way with discussions as well.

I actually tend to shy away from polls. About 90% of the time it's usually a five word sentence in the exposition space, and the choices don't list anything I agree with. Although it's an interesting way of finding out what's in the poster's head/attitude/values by what options they give.
