I did in during my freshman year in high school. After a huge fight with my dad that almost ended in divorce, my mother did as well. It was awful.
Neither my mom or I have done it since.

I used to, quite seriously actualy. But i stopped doing it and i wont lie sometimes i still have that feeling but i know there are better ways to deal with things now. I have 2 beautiful children who depend on me so i know that if only for them i wont do it again.

I have in the past, but it was never very serious. I say that while saying that none of my cuts were in places where bleeding would have gotten out of control and I never tried to take my own life. I have some scars, and I'm in the process of covering them with tattoos.

I never have. I had a step sister who did, and her case was fairly severe. She also "punished" herself with drugs and alcohol. She died of a Speedball overdose some years ago. She was a sweet woman whom I think would have lived if she had come out of the closet much earlier. It's quite sad and we miss her terribly.

My past is the same way, though, they only left one or two scars.

I'm so, so sorry. When a person gets to a place where they fuck with speedballs, they really don't have a fighting chance. It's horrible. It's like the last stop. I was talking yesterday about how I wish I could be one of those holier-than-thou types that condemns all users as weak, sniveling, immoral, and deserving of what they get. It must be so nice to live in that ignorance. Addicts are just people with problems like any one of us, they just got into the wrong way of dealing with their problems. That shit just brings you to your knees. Again, I am so sorry, and I just pray she at least has peace in some way now.

I had issues with it when I was younger. I dated a girl who still did it at 29. She even did it one time I was home, using a pair of tweezers even.

She ended up cheating on me and moved to live with her family.

I never have, but my ex boyfriend did, even while I was living with him. He would cut himself on different areas of his body and abused over the counter medications because they would make him sick. He made me feel like it was my fault, which is part of the reason I left him.

once and I was soooo distruaght at the time. I was trapped with a bunch of holligans in job corps. I was crying so hard I couldn't breath, I started rubbing my arm, then scratching it and it felt good and calmed me down. Downside after my chemicals leveled out omg it hurt so bad, NEVER AGAIN. Took months to heal because I took so much skin off, no scars though. Was 7 inches by 3, huge scab. >_<

I never did "self-harm" as I understand it, but I know people who have. I did engage in some self-destructive behavior as a young woman, before getting help to deal with some issues.

Thank you, Owl. I just saw this now, as this thread is a little painful for me, as you may imagine.

Yeah, speedballs are the "Final Frontier" in my opinion. Either that or mixing junk with meth. (Hers was junk and coke.)

She was a good person and as you said, certainly didn't deserve what happened to her. I have no idea why she selfmutilated, but she had a lot of issues and they were not dealt with properly.
